Terminator icon Linda Hamilton has admitted that there was ‘just something missing‘ in the sixth installment to the Terminator series, Terminator: Dark Fate.

To promote the second season of SyFy‘s ‘Resident Alien‘ the actress has been interviewed by Empire Magazine, with a profile of some of Ms. Hamilton’s most notable movie characters, and, of course, Sarah Connor had to feature front and center – though not really for Terminator 2: Judgment Day… and not with particularly fond memories of Terminator: Dark Fate.

On returning to play the legendary mother of the future, Linda said:

“It just felt so emotionally loaded, going back. I’d worked my ass off beforehand, going to the most painful, disappointing places, combing through bitterness and darkness.”

    Linda Hamilton told Empire Magazine

On Terminator: Dark Fate’s unfinished script:

“when we started and there wasn’t a finished script, it all of a sudden became clear that it [Terminator: Dark Fate] might not be a good movie.”

    Linda Hamilton

Linda previously told the A.V. Club that:

“The script wasn’t really finished when we started, and it was kind of coming along as we went along. And we all found that very hard to work that way. I heard too many people say, ‘Well, that’s how they make movies these days.’ It’s like, you know what? I need a beginning and a middle and an end.”

    Linda Hamilton

It sounds like James Cameron wasn’t the only one butting heads with T6 director Tim Miller.

James Cameron told Cinemablend of his ‘creative battles‘ with Miller:

“And the blood is still being scrubbed off the walls from those creative battles. This is a film that was forged in fire. So yeah, but that’s the creative process, right?”

    James Cameron

Linda on Tim Miller‘s vision for Sarah Connor:

“I had an existential crisis on that film. Tim [Miller] would say, ‘I want her relatable.’ And I would go back to my room and say, ‘Relatable? When was Sarah Connor ever relatable?’”

    Linda Hamilton

So, what did Linda Hamilton think was lacking in Terminator: Dark Fate?

“I love Tim. I love my ladies. But to me there was just something missing. It moved a little too fast. And there were so many beautiful moments that didn’t make it in. I’ll need to see it again, ten years from now, when I’ve stepped way, way back.”

Tim Miller also recently admitted that he’d made mistakes by making a Terminator movie for himself rather than the prospective audience.

Do you agree with Linda’s feelings toward Terminator: Dark Fate?

I love that she is being so honest about what went on behind the scenes. Movie was trash. Unoriginal. Cash grab. The visual effects were laughable. Terrible in every sense.

Some moments the Visual Effects looked stunning other times perhaps a little more polish up needed they won’t laughable in my opinion, The budget for filming alone was around 185 million dollars .

Arnold was 72 years old , 72 , Pretty sure at the time of filming Arnold had, may have had a heart valve replacement surgery, Arnold reprising The Terminator again was Spectacular none us as at 72 could play the Terminator.

Linda reprising her role as Sarah again was a gift to the fans.
The film was R rated .

John Conner aside, The film lacked a intelligent comprehensive story , obviously an unfinished script brought about that issue, more cleaver dialog needed, and while it might’ve made sense to use Legend instead of Skynet, it’s not the mythology fan’s wanted.

The film has it’s pro’s and con’s, wasn’t too bad, just should have been a lot better.

Your saying you love her when was she’s mad? She’s not what you think she is like Goldie Hawn’s Joanna Stayton/Annie Proffitt but she’s the opposite version of John Sparton from Demolition Man, Steven M Kovacs from The Cable Guy, Ashley from The Girl 2012, & Clu from Tron 1 & 2. James Cameron screwed everything up & doesn’t realize what went wrong with him about Sarah Connor played by His ex wife Linda no wonder he she divorced him same as Gale Anne Hurd. Except Her character Catherine Chambers from Beauty and the Beast.

Linda played Sarah Connor 4 times & the voice in Salvation. As for Arnold who is the best Terminator ever his character is the opposite version of Tron/Rinzler, and As Carl the idiot T-800 who killed John the opposite of Dr Raymond Cocteau from Demolition Man, Ricky Ricardo the Cable Guy, & Elizabeth Swann from pirates 1-3 & 5 & kinda like Beta from The Girl 2012 same as Tim Miller. James Cameron is the opposite of Kevin Flynn the user of Clu his ex wife Gale the version the opposite of Alan Brandley the user of Tron David Ellison & Dane Goldberg the users of Bret Azer the younger version of the T-800 Terminator against John Connor.

Tbh, I’d rather play immersive terminator games from now on. They just can’t seem to understand the audience and get the movies right.

I hope the money was worth it Linda. Sarah Connor sure doesn’t feel as iconic as she used to. Never trust an ex!

C’est tout simplement sortie de la bouche d’une héroïne et effectivement il manquait juste un bon scénario une réalisation plus réaliste et un john connor avec encore de l’espoir de vivre et jouer.
