IMDb has revealed more Terminator 6 information and all IMDb updates so far have been bang on the mark for authenticity.
Writer Billy Ray has been hired to do a rewrite of the Terminator 6 script; his past work includes writing credits for working on the following screenplays for movies Captain Phillips, The Hunger Games, Flightplan, Hart’s War and Volcano. The Terminator 6 script in its current state apparently needed a rewrite/polish.
We know that the Terminator 6 writers room previously consisted of Josh Friedman, David S. Goyer, Charles Eglee and Justin Rhodes.
Producer David Ellison, actor Arnold Schwarzenegger and producer Dana Goldberg attend the European Premiere of ‘Terminator Genisys’
David Ellison, the producer and owner of Skydance is also receiving a story credit alongside James Cameron and has had a strong presence in the writers room. Mr. Ellison has rep for Kenneth Branagh-esque antics involving movie creating/writing/starring, back in 2010 he was set to have a large role in a movie he had written about his own extreme fly-boy exploits titled “Northern Lights” (the project never got off the ground) – something which apparently scared off lead actors like Twilight’s Taylor Lautner (Deadline.com).
Terminator 6 Writers credits are now as follows:
1. James Cameron (story/characters) also Executive Producer/Creative Consultant
2. David Ellison (story) also Producer
3. Tim Miller (story) also Director
4. Josh Friedman
5. David S. Goyer
6. Charles Eglee
7. Justin Rhodes
8. Billy Ray (rewrite/polish)
Eight writers?
Is this a case of too many cooks spoiling the broth? How many writers does one film need? And still not one woman in the writers room? Are too many ideas going to make the film messy and take the story all over the place or are brilliant ideas all coming together to make an excellent story and script? As always time will reveal all.
Update:
Variety reported-
After assembling a writer’s room earlier this year to tackle the latest installment in the “Terminator” franchise, Tim Miller and James Cameron have brought on Billy Ray to join the team and give the final touches to the latest draft.
Cameron and Miller’s writer’s room included David Goyer, Justin Rhodes, and Josh Friedman. Ray is now coming on to polish the script that is based on a story conceived by Cameron, Miller, and Skydance founder David Ellison.
Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger are returning to the franchise with Skydance and Cameron producing the project. Plot details are being kept under wraps, although Cameron has said that the film will be a direct sequel to “Terminator 2: Judgment Day” since he played no part in the recent installments.
The pic is set to bow on July 26, 2019.

This is disconcerting, but time will tell. We fans have been burned by pretty movies with terrible scripts (I’m especially thinking of Genisys and T3). I can’t speak for anyone but myself, but I’m more than a little gun shy at this point.
I have an opinion , move the release date, going against a Untitled Fast & Furious Spin-Off , you can kiss this trilogy goodbye, release the film in a month were there is no popular franchise or big films coming out. I want to see confidence but not stupid release date decisions, release it at the right time and it’ll do well.
So true. I was just looking at the scheduled released for June and August. They have a lot of competition. It’s hard to find the perfect day. Not only would they go head to head with Fast and Furious, but 1 week later they go up against Spider-Man 2. That’s terrible.
Sure. This is another disaster.
Too many writers.
Arnold back as an old Terminator which would need more lame reasons for his existence in the movie. Just like Genisys gave some crappy reasons for his old appearance.
Ignoring T3 and T4. So many good concepts were there in those films which needed to be developed properly. Making a sequel to T2 is unwanted. What we need is a sequel to T4. Set in the future.
I think bringing back Linda Hamilton is just a bait. We are already familiar with these characters. The new 18 year old will just be a distraction.
Get past the judgment day and concentrate on the future.
