The new trailer for Terminator 2: 3D reveals the windshield fix and now also confirmation that Arnold Schwarzenegger’s stunt double (Peter Kent) has had his face digitally fixed/altered to have Arnold Schwarzenegger’s likeness.
Watch the trailer now…
Terminator Fan Daniel Yanez did an honest review of Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D for TheTerminatorFans.com when the movie premiered in Argentina and he stated the following…
I knew about the windshield replacement beforehand, so I watched the scene closely. I couldn’t see any weird fx, as if nothing was wrong with it. Very well done. Another thing that caught my attention was the stunt double on the bike scenes (bike jumping into the canal and stunt reaching to pick John Connor up from his bike)… I could swear that they replaced the stunt double’s face with Arnold’s. But I’m not 100% sure.
In a Q&A James Cameron stated that the only digital tweak/fix he did was the windshield gag from the drainage canal chase sequence;- we took Jim’s word that this was the only alteration, but Daniel Yanez was completely correct Peter Kent has had his face digitally swapped out with Schwarzenegger’s yet Edward Furlong’s stunt double hasn’t had a “face replace” tweak…
TheTerminatorFans.com correspondent Jonathan Tam screen captured some stills/comparison shots from the original version of T2: Judgment Day and the new trailer.
Compared with the original still of Arnold Schwarzenegger’s stuntman/double Peter Kent…
We can see some of the color grading changes and the windshield gag fix James Cameron talked about…
Here is the original shot from T2: Judgment Day…
… and now the new version in Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D…
What did you think of the trailer, the color changes and the fix/tweaks?

I don’t understand the windshield fix… I can see the differences in the before & after pictures, but all I notice in the “before” image is that there are a few reflections that have been removed. What am I missing?

When the truck jumps off the bridge – the windshield drops out, then the camera pulls back and the windshield is back on the truck and then the T-1000 smashes it out the way to clear his line of vision on his target (John Connor). This was a gag mistake that James Cameron has had fixed in Termiantor 2: 3D’s remaster.
Ah! Now I see! Thanks for the response. Wow, my all-time favorite movie since I first saw it in 2nd grade; I’ve watched it literally hundreds of times and have caught many little “mistakes” myself, but I never noticed this one! Thanks for the explanation!

“No problemo” Casey!
It gave me goosebumps still to this day. Whenever I hear that music…I love this movie so much. I’ve watched it so many times I could probably recite every line.
Say, does anyone know of any way to view the original, theatrically-colored (not washed-out/blue) version of the film online? I think it was released on the Pioneer Japanese laserdisc? I would imagine there’s a torrent out there somewhere…
