For Terminator Fans, and film buffs across the world, Terminator 2: Judgment Day will always be a science fiction favorite; featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger as the iconic T-800 Terminator, Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor, Robert Patrick as the T-1000 and Edward Furlong as young John Connor – the movie is a masterclass in pushing the boundaries of technology whilst also upping the ante on the story and emotional stakes.
The movie also has a legendary status within the American Film Institute where it has ranked multiple times in their movie lists, beginning with #77 in 2001 on AFI‘s list of 100 Years… 100 Thrills for ‘America’s Most Heart-Pounding Movies‘, then again in 2003, when it reached #48 for Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800 being a Hero in the list 100 Years… 100 Heroes & Villains. In 2005 T2 ranked #76 for 100 Years… 100 Movie Quotes with “Hasta La Vista Baby“, then in 2008 James Cameron‘s 1991 sequel reached #8 in a list titled: 10 Top 10 for Science Fiction Films
Now to celebrate National Science Fiction Day the Internet Movie Database (IMDb) compiled a list of the highest rated science fiction movies, as ranked by users of their site.
