We are sad to report that Leslie H. Freas unexpectedly passed away at the age of 63 on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2020.
TheTerminatorFans.com heard the news a few days ago – though we didn’t want it to be true, but it is now being confirmed.
Leslie H. Freas had previously worked as a nurse in the E.R before moving on to work as a hospice nurse.
Leslie was best known to Terminator Fans for starring in Terminator 2: Judgment Day (credited as Leslie Hamilton Gearren), alongside her sister Linda Hamilton.
Leslie’s participation in T2 added to the illusion that the T-1000 was morphing and assuming the identity of Sarah Connor without the need for CGI.
Leslie also participated in a deleted scene where Sarah and John reset the T-800’s CPU to learn mode (instead of the default read only setting).
Leslie gave the facade that Sarah Connor was opening up the T-800 CPU hub, when in fact Leslie was standing next to the real Schwarzenegger – while Linda was handling a life size puppet of Arnold Schwarzenegger (created by the master artists at Stan Winston Studio). With smart choreography, the scene devised by James Cameron, saw both Leslie and Linda match motion and body actions to make us believe everything we saw in the mirror was real.
Rest in peace Leslie. We are severely grateful for the scenes you participated in, and we ask that all Terminator fans please respect the privacy of Leslie and Linda’s family during this difficult time.

I am truly sorry for your loss. I live near Salisbury and am very proud of you both. May you find comfort in God and may Leslie be looking over you. Hugs and Love through these difficult days.
It was a shock to me. Most unexpected. It saddened me and I feel sorry for Linda and all her family. It is not just us fans of the Terminator franchise who will be sorry, she worked for a commendable and noble organisation who looked after very ill and injured people. She must have had a lot of work colleague friends too.
So very sorry to hear of Leslie’s passing. May she RIP. May you and your family find comfort in your memories and the love you share. Blessings to you all. Fly Leslie fly till we meet again!💔😢
