    The 46th annual Saturn Awards were announced on March 4 2021, and it looks like Terminator: Dark Fate could stand a chance at ‘Best Science Fiction Film’ plus ‘Best Supporting Actress in a Film’ for Linda Hamilton‘s role of Sarah Connor and Best Film Visual / Special Effects.
    The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films announced the nominations for film and TV series’ released between July 15th 2019 and November 15th 2020.

    The nominations for the category of Best Science Fiction Film Release, are:

    Ad Astra (2019)
    Gemini Man (2019)
    Lucy in the Sky (2019)
    Star Wars – The Rise of Skywalker (2019)
    Tenet (2020)
    Terminator: Dark Fate (2019)

    The nominations for the category of Best Supporting Actress in a Film, are:

    Zazie Beetz (Joker)
    Ellen Burstyn (Lucy in the Sky)
    Jamie Lee Curtis (Knives Out)
    Ana De Armas (Knives Out)
    Linda Hamilton (Terminator: Dark Fate)
    Amanda Seyfried (Mank)
    Jurnee Smollett (Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)

    The nominations for Best Film Visual / Special Effects, are:

    Ad Astra (Scott R. Fisher, Allen Maris)
    Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) (Mark Hawker, Yael Majors, Greg Steele)
    It Chapter Two (Warren Appleby, Nicholas Brooks)
    The Lion King (Ken Egly, Robert Legator)
    Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker (Roger Guyett, Neal Scanlan, Patrick Tubach, Dominic Tuohy)
    Tenet (Andrew Jackson, Andrew Lockley, Scott Fisher, Mike Chambers)
    Terminator: Dark Fate (Neil Corbould, Eric Barba, Vinod Gundre, Sheldon Stopsack)

    The Saturn Awards are voted upon by members; Saturn members include J. J. Abrams, Bryan Singer, Steven Spielberg, Bryan Fuller, Mark A. Altman, Vince Gilligan and, Terminator creator and Terminator: Dark Fate writer / producer James Cameron.

    The Academy of Science Fiction, Fantasy & Horror Films is a non-profit organization which has its membership open to the public – so you too can become a member and participate in voting via the official website: saturnawards.org

    The awards ceremony is planned for sometime later this year.

    Terminator: Dark Fate lost out to Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker for the category of Best Science Fiction Film, and Best Special Effects, and Linda Hamilton sadly lost out to Ana De Armas with her role as ‘Marta Cabrera‘ in Knives Out.

      Well deserved! The only film on the list that I’d consider to be in the same class is Rise of Skywalker. That said, I expect both to be overlooked in favor of Tenet, which is a shame.

      Hell no dark fate should not win, with the other movies on the list it doesn’t stand a chance. If it were as good as T2 it would be a sure fire winner. I’ve seen better movies than dark fate on Netflix lol
