On June 5, 2012 Metal band ‘Fear Factory’ released ‘ The Industrialist”.  A concept album that tells the tale of a machine becoming self aware, something similar to SkyNet itself…

    Fear Factory The Industrialist

Burton C. Bell said about the album:

“the protagonist (The Industrialist) is the incarnation of all industries in the form of an automaton. The mechanical, technological, and scientific advances through the industrial age led to the creation of The Industrialist. In the story, the automaton becomes sentient as it collects memories with each passing day. Through observation and learning, it gains the will to exist. What was meant to help man, will eventually be man’s demise.”

Fear Factory are big fans of the terminator franchise and have even done tributes to the movies with their music most notably on the album ‘Demanufacture’. It was also much rumored that the band would appear on the third movies soundtrack but it never came to be but they did do the soundtrack to “The Terminator: Dawn of Fate” Video Game which was on both the Ps2 and the original XBOX.
