THR.com via Deadline.com reveals major casting news for the lead roles in the new Terminator movie
…Colombian actress Natalia Reyes has nabbed the starring role in the Terminator reboot.
Dani Ramos is a role that apparently has been significantly difficult to cast for, but has finally been cast. The character is described as the new main centerpiece role of the franchise and star of the new trilogy.
Skydance and filmmakers Tim Miller and James Cameron, directing and producing respectively, made a concerted effort to find a Latina actress and someone who they considered a “discovery,” in the similar way Cameron did with Hamilton when he cast the young actress in his 1984 movie.
They came close a couple of times in the last few months, but no cigar. Several weeks ago it was decided to broaden the search to central and South America, with seven actresses picked to screen test.
Reyes appeared in children’s programs in Colombia and has starred in two noteworthy Spanish-speaking series, Cumbia Ninja and Lady, the Seller of Roses (Lady, La Vendedora de Rosas). But what some sources say was the clincher was her work in Birds of Passage, the new film from Colombian filmmaker Ciro Guerra. Reyes is the lead of the film and buzz has the film heading for a debut at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
The new potential Terminator villain?
Gabriel Luna, who is known for playing Ghost Rider on ABC’s Agents of SHIELD, …
…Luna will play a Terminator robot while Boneta will play Dani’s brother. Davis is an soldier-assassin from the future.
Diego Boneta (Scream Queens) is rumored to be Dani’s Brother and Mackenzie Davis will play a soldier assassin (potentially called Grace) who we have theorized could be a T-800 unit as she is expected to take the role of a similar nature to that of a Schwarzenegger T-800 and we guess she could be a protector role in the movie.
What about those two beloved actors/characters we are going to see the movie for?
Hamilton and Schwarzenegger are reprising their roles, but sources say that their parts are relatively brief.
When does this thing start filming?
The cast is expected to begin training later in April with an eye toward a May production start.
When is it released?
The film opens Nov. 22, 2019. Paramount will distribute domestically while Fox releases the film internationally.

From the description of Dani Ramos I guess it solidifies the idea that this wont be set during the future war and that Judgement day was averted. How this makes sense I have no idea.
So … Agents of Shields…. constantly trying to be Marvel version of Terminator is currently continuing… I like first 4 movies. Even T3 and T4 are nice scifi. But now? No thanks.
Sources say ? Hamilton and Schwarzenegger roles are relatively brief ? relatively brief ? What did I just read. I’ll wait for the reviews and if this is true I ain’t watching this in theatres buying the blu ray disc, supporting this film. Can they stop pissing the fans off ?
I don’t think that they actually want to stop doing that. It’s like a new bizarre trend that is going on in Hollyweird right now. And they have already been doing it to most, if not all of the many movie series that we grew up watching, so with this one, it was to be expected. Perhaps it is true what they say that the Chinese government has something to do with this whole situation. Anyway, they know that they are still going to make a lot of money from this mess, so they don’t really care about the real fans of this series.
If there’s truth to the fact that Arnold and Linda’s appearences are brief…my anticipation for this movie has dropped massively.

I think it is great that the new film with cater for Latin America in a bigger way. I’m quite happy to read translation subtitles in parts of the film if necessary.
