We had previously reported that the United States-Mexico border would feature in the movie and we acknowledged that the Terminator (2019) may possibly have something political to say about our; times whether outright or underlying subtly in the plot.
Covera Airport (Covera is Province of Murcia, Spain) has been used for filming and surrounding roads/highways but of course other locations may be used to carry on what we believe is a chase sequence. What Terminator movie doesn’t have a good highway road chase?
@inesmarel_actriz Instagrammed from the set at Covera Airport- we presume she is an actress (talking about being involved in driving scenes) who may play someone caught up in a chase like maybe a female police officer, or a member of the public?
TheTerminatorFans.com Spanish Correspondent Javier Cárceles is BACK with a translation:
Good morning, we are here that we started the first day of filming. Well today we are not going to shoot, we are with Terminator 6 but today we are going to the costume test and the driving test. Today we are going to do driving things. So I’ll tell you a little bit and I’ll show you a little bit how all this is going ok. Good morning! Look, the sun rises. Sunrise in Murcia …
La Opinión de Murcia reports:
The new installment of the Terminator saga has come with strength and great expectation to the Region of Murcia. Preparations for filming began yesterday in the vicinity of the Corvera airport; where cameras, decorated spotlights and specialists will become part of the landscape at least until August 17, time in which it will proceed to convert the area in the desert of Mexico.
The new installment of the popular saga starring Arnold Schwarzenegger has already begun to record some scenes in Spain, specifically in the Isleta del Moro, in Almeria, and will also pass through Alicante.
Filming in Murcia, which was scheduled to begin yesterday, involves the cutting of the RM-16 road from kilometer 0 to 2, which is the link between the Murcia-Cartagena motorway. Although a few days ago, this road has become the border between Mexico and the United States and, instead of announcing the airport, what are advertised are locations as far away as Queretaro, Toluca or Guadalupe.
For them will roll the cars that are already on the set of shooting, including several police vehicles both American and El Paso, ready to take the action to this new movie in the Terminator saga.
For the shooting in the Region, the producer organized a casting at the Hotel Occidental Murcia Siete Coronas a few weeks ago to choose extras for the new film; however, then it was still unknown that it was this overproduction.
In the behind the scenes video we can see a Mexican cop car that is being prepared for scenes. La Opinión de Murcia also has a ton of set images which we have archived below.
