In Terminator: Dark Fate we saw Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) utter the words “I’ll be back“; a catchphrase made famous by Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800 in the first Terminator movie but now Arnold Schwarzenegger’s ‘Dutch‘ is borrowing one of Sarah Connor’s iconic lines from The Terminator (1984) for his appearance in Predator: Hunting Grounds.

Sarah Connor recorded numerous tapes following the events of 1984, to prepare her son John Connor for his future as leader of the human Resistance in the war against the machines and, well, Dutch has been doing something very similar since the Val Verde Incident of 1987 up until April 2025 (the year the Dutch DLC is set). He appears to have been recording tapes detailing his interactions with the Yautja alien species.
These tapes will obviously fill in the gaps for players who are eager to find out what Dutch has been up to in the intervening years since the first Predator movie.

In Terminator: Dark Fate Sarah Connor has become a fully fledged Terminator Hunter, spending the years between the death of her son John Connor in 1998 Guaetemmala, to 2022 hunting Terminators.
It looks like Dutch has also become a fully fledged Predator Hunter, and has even gathered trophies from fallen predators along the way – including his shoulder armor / Pauldron (a Predator mask), and Dutch’s knife which looks to be a repurposed Predator Gauntlet / wrist blade.
