Seeing Robert Patrick kicking ass as the T-1000 is one thing, but seeing the man behind the character is another. Patrick has a demeanor which has made it easy for him to find roles where he is kicking butt.
When he was on Conan not that long ago, he was the man behind the legend; a man full of warmth and humor who clearly takes pride in his craft.
Patrick joked around with Conan about the difference between the terms “motorcycle club” and “biker gang”. Laughingly stating that he was in the former and not the latter.
After he told an amusing story about being stuck in the desert- with him finally realizing he could just call AAA (motor vehicle breakdown/recovery service), he gave Conan a belt buckle.
Patrick also talked about auditioning for the role of the T-1000 in Terminator 2: Judgment Day. He talked about how his auditioning for the role was him basically glaring and scaring James Cameron. It clearly made an impact on Jim.
All in all, it was a great night on Conan with Mr. Patrick, the liquid metal sex god, ruling awesome as expected.
