A couple of months ago we contacted Reef Entertainment and we told them that fans are crying out for a new video game based on the first 2 Terminator movies. The reason we contacted them in regard to Terminator is because they have made an Official Rambo Video Game under the STUDIOCANAL License and that game utilizes official voice and sound clips from STUDIOCANAL’s archive for an authentic movie game experience. So obviously a Terminator equivalent was of sheer interest to us.

So either by a huge coincidence or they listened… Reef Entertainment has announced it will be making a game/s based on the first two Terminator movies titled ‘Terminators: The Video Game’.

    Reef Entertainment

    Press Release:

UK video game publisher Reef Entertainment is very proud to announce it has acquired, from STUDIOCANAL, the exclusive console video game rights for legendary motion-picture ‘The Terminator’ and the console and PC video game rights for its sequel ‘ Terminator 2: Judgment Day’.

    A Reef spokesperson said:

‘Here at Reef we are huge fans of 1984 & 1991 Sci-Fi action master-pieces. It’s an incredible opportunity and an equally huge responsibility to create a game that does great justice to the motion-pictures. We are studying all aspects and influences of the Terminator universe defined in Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day. We have started on our journey and are drawing on all the diverse materials available to produce a high quality, authentic and exciting Terminator video game.’

It has been stated that STUDIOCANAL provided rights for T1 and T2 games but to our knowledge STUDIOCANAL deal with T2 Licenses and MGM deal with T1 Licenses possibly explaining why the T2 game will also appear on PC but the T1 game will just be on consoles.

The current name stands for the name of a series of games.

So finally we get a ‘The Terminator (1984)’ and a ‘Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991) video game that isn’t on retro consoles.

Reef Entertainment may also have their eyes set on a Terminator 5 game only time will tell.

This is great news for fans who have been waiting for more Terminator games for a very long time.

Terminators the video game will be released on home consoles and PC. Stay tuned to TheTerminatorFans.com for more information

I wont expect so much from those game developers, they’re the same that are working on a Rambo videogame:

What if Reef mad the story in the game in 2 different ways, the 1st story mode plays through like the movie through from a combo of perspectives going between Kyle and sarah, so youd play through Kyles dream he had sitting in the car by the construction site then you switch gears to playing as Sarah and it plays through chronologically like the movie, so your essentially experiencing the events of the movie as both Kyle and Sarah and the 2nd story allows you to play through as either Kyle Reese or the T800 and if the story could get tweaked that if the terminator in fact kills Sarah the game ends differently
