The title to Terminator 6 has been confirmed as… Terminator: Dark Fate.
The working title was revealed by James Cameron last month, and was starting to become the official username for the movie’s official social media accounts over the last few days. It has now been confirmed by Deadline.com as the official title for the newest instalment to the Terminator franchise.
Deadline stated that:
“The Tim Miller-directed, James Cameron produced Terminator movie will now be known as Terminator: Dark Fate.”
No source is stated in the article but Deadline is usually a go-to outlet for the movie industry with certain types of information such as this; so we can take this news as concrete.
Back in February we made a reaction video on our Youtube which suggested that Terminator fans were okay with the Terminator: Dark Fate working title for the Terminator 6 production- the title suggested a possible tonal shift as to the fate of Sarah Connor and, her much speculated, swan song.

Without an an anonymous source, I question who confirmed the title. I’m guessing it may just be due to the Terminator Twitter account being updated to Dark Fate, which I had noticed and tweeted several days ago. I’m highly impressed with Tim Miller’s work ethic, enthusiasm and dedication to the new Terminator movie but I’m greatly disappointed with the limp and uninspired social media presence for the new film. While I realize the movie is several months from release, the Twitter and Facebook pages are horribly stale. Despite the Twitter account now listing Dark Fate, it still inexplicably refers to the upcoming film as untitled. And it took them months to update the release date. Given the huge budget and profile of this movie, it seems so lazy and disinterested. The Skydance social media sites also don’t appear to represent the Terminator movie in any significant or ongoing fashion. In the age of social media, it would take a matter of seconds or minutes to update and keep current and fresh. And a new photo or poster being added to Twitter and Facebook would inject some verve and energy into the anticipation for the new Terminator movie. If the folks responsible exhibited even a modicum of the diligence and alertness of this website and The Arnold Fans, it would be a vast improvement.
We completely understand your concerns, we had other fans questioning the title announcement too; so we reached out to Paramount for confirmation.
