Terminator Creator and Writer/Director of the first two movies; Mr. James Cameron… is 63 years matured today!
This year marked a remarkable u-turn for the franchise with one of the best ‘BACK’s’ the franchise has ever seen with the return of The King of the World and Pandora;- Jim himself to the franchise. This is lllooonnnggg overdue in the eyes of many Terminator Fans.
It has obviously been fun to watch him have a heavy presence in the promotion of Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D; giving that extra feeling that he is back with his (and his company’s) direct involvement (Lightstorm Entertainment).
The first Terminator movie launched Cameron forward to a stunning career in Hollywood to direct such movies as Aliens, The Abyss, Terminator 2: Judgment Day, Titanic and Avatar as well as contributing to and producing numerous other titles and serious documentaries.
Jim has also gone on to pioneer in the realm of 3D with camera systems and technology and he won’t stop ever… until your sat in a theater with no need for 3D glasses on your face (naked eye 3D).
Cameron will have direct involvement with Terminator 6 after previously having no real involvement in the third, fourth and fifth movies (bar a couple of suggestions on a couple of the later installments of Terminator such as Terminator Salvation via casting and Terminator Genisys via explaining why Arnold is so old).
Mr. Cameron is still very busy bringing his overall vision of Avatar to life and turning it into a fully fledged franchise but his participation in Terminator seems positive so far as he has grand ideas about re-imagining the franchise (hopefully not to a totally unrecognizable degree) because we love the dark horror roots of the first movie (our favorite installment) and the high octane action of the second.
Hopefully Jim can find a nice middle ground to get people to take the franchise and the name TERMINATOR seriously once more.
It would be nice if Jim would step behind the camera once again as the director at least on last time,- maybe for the final installment of his new trilogy if it all goes to plan after he finishes Avatar or takes a stop gap to bring us some Termination?
