Fans are in uproar over VFX (Visual Effects) and CGI (Computer Generated Imagery) witnessed in,- more or less all the trailers so far, for Terminator Genisys.
It is now very common for trailers to show work in progress effects and visual effects companies can work on deadlines very close to a movie’s release, it is one of the major changes in the industry of big blockbuster Hollywood movies.
Now, a while back we had reported on how we had seen that the CGI ‘The Terminator’ (young arnold) was looking much better than early trailer versions and in the more complete versions of rendering.
We can now happily confirm that work has NOT finished on the visual effects of Terminator Genisys and we have seen blood/tissue damage that wasn’t featured in the trailer.
The following images are from the LATEST TRAILER and the VFX are NOT FINISHED! We are happy to bring you a closer look at the T-800 from the trailer and to hopefully reduce fans concerns about the VFX in Terminator Genisys.
The image (above) is not fully rendered but we still think it looks as Arnold would say “VERRAY NISE!. We have witnessed a more fully rendered version and we can see progression from this image from the trailer. Notable changes include hair and lighting. Chest hair differences will also be notable… they are going to the effort to do the fine hairs on his chest as an example of how much they are pushing the 3D Arnold to the max of current technological ability.
Next we see 2 WWE Hall of Famers battle it out!
Again, in a similar situation to the first image, this still from the trailer has progressed, in the trailer we see 2 small chunks missing (above) on the top of ‘The Terminator’s’ chest. The more advanced renderings have a few more chunks removed, some more blood added (not loads) and even a ‘small’ dribble or two from his facial area.
The next image from the trailer in a side by comparison with the original movie!
Again a more rendered version exists, the hair is vastly improved, his eyebrows, his eyes, the perspiration and the lighting on his face. The improvements are notable and not just slight.
So, there we have it; the effects are not finished yet. We can’t show you the advancements (for obvious reasons) but we thought fans deserve to have concerns addressed and to let you know that we have seen the improvements on still unfinished CGI work and have seen more battle damage with that ever important BLOOD!
We have also seen images of a physical practical effect Arnold (young)- containing blood from a gunshot to THE TERMINATOR. We have reported this practical Arnold effect before in one of our Exclusive stories a while back but are unsure if it retains in the movie or a possible R Rated Alan Taylor Cut for home release.

Crazy that they still have Ben Richards in the database like that. I bet Editel charged an arm and a leg for the software!

Thanks for the info…
Although, i must ask, where did you get the pic on the left on the closeup comparison shot?
That is not from any of the trailers, and the first one, isnt as well
Apparently the images we got hold of are from the trailer but obviously in a higher quality allowing us to see more detail. We would not purposefully post any image or leaks. We don’t even post the much seen set photos.
This was taken from trailer that just came out the other day

This is really good news. The younger 1984 Terminator is looking better and better with each trailer release. What I (and a large amount of others) were concerned about was the shot of arnold released via twitter where half of his face was exposed endoskeleton. It looked very cheap and fake. I suspect the lack of flesh detail and blood was the major contributing factor in that. The fact that shots like this are far from completion and that you guys have seen more up to date detailed cgi facial damage shots is comforting to say the least. Come on Skydance, lets make this the best Terminator movie yet and prove any doubters wrong!
Woao very cool
a cgi young arnold is very good, but why do they need to replicate the shots of the original movie, instead of doing them in a new way.
Let’s face it we all know it’s all cgi when we see it. I would love this movie to surprise everyone and be as big as Jurassic World, but from what I’ve seen in trailers it’s more likely to be a cheese fest PG13 comedy….
Hopefully this will bomb signal the end of these unwanted sequels to the original masterpiece.
