This should be good news… but is it really Terminator Fans?
So, Annapurna hired Skydance Productions right? Well Skydance Productions just made a pitch for a story for T5 then hired 2 writers to write the Screenplay for the next Terminator movie.
So you’d think an indie and cool production company like Annapurna Pics would be doing special things for Terminator but now Skydance is involved the whole thing looks now to be treated like it has been in the past and everything commercial about Skydance is now infecting the next Terminator movie before it’s even made.
Megan Ellison is on the Oscar run with her lastest Annapurna Pics releases (The Master, Zero Dark Thirty) then why in the hell has she allowed box office flop pen scratchers Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier to scribe the next f*cking Terminator movie?!
The first thing you may ask yourself is; who the fuck are they? Maybe you’ll recognize them once you hear what they have worked on before…
Lussier scripted Wes Craven’s Dracula and Directed My Bloody Valentine and Kalogridis credits include Avatar, Scream 3 and Alexander.
Lussier is also possibly directing the third installment of Rob Zombie’s Halloween series?
These are some god damn awful movies and this could be Ferris and Brancato (the guys who scripted T3 and Salvation) all over again! Even on this website Avatar pulls no real weight, we think it sucked big time. Cashing in on Global Warming anyone?
Now TheTerminatorFans.com take a cynical stance on the next Terminator movie. Maybe we’re wrong, the movie could turn out good and we’ll eat shit if it is but right now the next Terminator movie just climbed into the toilet for a nice long while.
The rumors a while back suggested that veteran Terminator writer and co-creator William Wisher might return, having written treatments for the next 2 installments in the Terminator franchise… WTF happened?! As Terminator Fans we wanted a real Terminator movie and not some excess CGI fluff piece pulled together to fill out a resume or two! This new Terminator news has sent chills of anxiety rippling through our newsroom. Bring back Bill Wisher, we don’t want another Hollywood Flopbuster!
This sounds quite embarrassing so far.

Now I read that many people around the web are extremely unhappy seeing the names that have been chosen to write the new movie, and I’m somehow relieved…
The link of above describes (on a forum) my idea: if someone else likes it I think we should contact Ms. Ellison to ask her to chose other writers. After all what she wants is a good movie, and she wants it ASAP: I’m sure that neither her nor us could be disappointed by a movie written by a staff of writers that has already done a more-than-excellent job with the same franchise before.

Guys, CALM THE FUCK DOWN. Patrick Lussier isn’t THAT bad. Sure, he’s made some crap films in the past, but lately he’s been improving as both a writer and director. Need I remind you he directed the off-the-chain action movie Drive Angry? He’s known for making crazy films like that, with the exception of My Bloody Valentine. And he wrote a decent pitch story for Ghost Rider 2 that he posted outline a while ago. Plus, I haven’t heard jack about that Halloween follow-up he was attached to in a very long time, and I have reason to believe that it’s probably been scrapped. As for Laeta Kalogridis, let me make something very clear: AVATAR DIDN’T SUCK. Sorry, I’m just sick of hearing everyone say that, and I have no plans to get into a comment war on here with morons who still unrightfully call it a rip-off of Pocahontas or Dances With Wolves for B.S. reasons. In regards to Alexander or Scream 3, the latter was predominantly written by the god-awful Ehren Kruger while the former is just a ho-hum movie in general. That aside, I’m very interested in seeing what Lussier and Kalogridis come up with and I hope it’ll make for a crazy fun movie, if nothing else.
Being calm (in other words accepting any old BS) Terminator Fans, is what got the franchise into the mess it’s in. A “crazy fun movie, if nothing else” is not what the fans deserve, they deserve a higher class and quality of Terminator movie. We did state that it is our website’s staff opinions that Avatar sucks and many others think so too, are we not all entitled to our opinions? The movies you mentioned do bear some similarities to Avatar but we’d say he ripped off Ferngully if we had to choose one. As far as we know Lussier won’t be directing (hopefully not anyway). We can obviously try to get points across to try and influence the project but it never worked before so why would it now? Maybe some fans are happy with mediocre summer action movies but we are sick to the back teeth of them. RESIST!

She adapted Shutter Island for Martin Scorsese so I think she has some talent (you’ve probably ignored that, instead focusing on Scorsese). Terminator fans don’t deserve a high class masterpiece. It’s about time travelling cyborgs and action. This isn’t a project that would attract the likes of Aaron Sorkin David Fincher..
