Comicbook.com have announced that Dark Horse Comics are returning with new Terminator stories in the form of a new series titled ‘Terminator: Sector Wars’.
The series is set to toy with the idea that two T-800’s were sent back to 1984 (an idea even TheTerminatorFans.com have briefly touched upon to potentially explain Arnold Schwarzenegger’s aged appearance in the upcoming Terminator 6). Although as usual it doesn’t look like Schwarzenegger’s likeness will feature in the comics or if this particular T-800 sent to 1984 New York will survive the comic series or will be Terminated by the new hero ‘NYPD Officer Lucy Castro’.

It also looks like Dark Horse Comics is beating movie studios to having the first Latino Female Hero in the Terminator Universe with ‘Lucy Castro’ before the upcoming character of Dani Ramos is even introduced to fans officially in 2019’s new Terminator 2: Judgment Day sequel.

    Official Terminator: Sector Wars Description/Synopsis:

“Many are familiar with the story of The Terminator’s time-traveling quest to 1984 to kill Sarah Connor in Los Angeles. Adding a new spin to the timeline, Terminator: Sector Wars follows a second Terminator sent to 1984 New York City to take out NYPD Officer Lucy Castro, a rookie cop assigned to one of the worst sections of the city. When she faces off against the relentless T-800, she will have to rely on unlikely allies to survive till dawn as the machine that never sleeps stalks his prey through the city that never sleeps.”

    Comicbook.com additionally reports:

The new series is titled Terminator: Sector War and features writer Brian Wood (Aliens Defiance, Briggs Land) teaming up with artist Jeff Stokely (The Spire, Six-Gun Gorilla) taking fans back to the year 1984. This won’t be another retelling of the classic first film, however, as it is revealed there was a second Terminator sent back in time.

On one hand: Yeahooooo a new T-Comic coming soon, good news !

On the Other Hand: Oh lookie here, another T1-Only (most likely) timeline-based comic where something terminatory happened in the mid-1980s other then the events of the first film (or almost in parallel timing with the first film), this “concept” has been done to death in the T-Comics by now, here’s the list from the oldest to the latest (most of them are from the same company Dark Horse by the way, so either these guys are having serious licensing issues or creativity problems):

      – Terminator: One Shot (1991 darkhorse) (happens almost in parallel timing with the first film)

      – in a way the whole Dark Horse Quadrilogy of comicbook series: “Tempest”/”Secondary Objectives”/”Enemy Within”/”End Game” (1990-1992) can be qualified as such when you factor the all those events are happening within a span of Sarah Connor’s pregnancy.

      – Terminator/PainKiller Jane crossover by Dynamite Entertainment (2008) sorta plays with this idea as well but the second, “female” terminator ended up in 2008 New York via glitch in the time-machine process (visually-wise, it’s more of a T3ROTM-Based alternate reality timeline comic then a T1-Only deal).

      – Terminator: 2029/1984 (2010): an alternate reality take on the first film where Kyle lived much longer but more Terminators still kept coming back.

      – Terminator “Enemy of my Enemy” (2014 darkhorse): takes place in 1985 with a tough ex-CIA woman turned mercenary encountering a Terminator.

Okay so here is the update on this disposable trash of a comic:

the biggest problem I have with this story is how the Assassin T800 is portrayed and i noticed that this has been a constant problem in the non-cameron sequels ever since T3ROTM but it’s been getting worse and worse with each followup (Salvation and Genisys) a problem that i like to call the “Austin Powers/Dr. Evil Syndrome” it can apply to both Skynet’s minions and Skynet itself, here is the rough idea from that fun comedy movie series of what i really mean according to the Dr.Evil himself

“Nah, shooting them on the spot is too boring, I’m just going to place the heroes in an easily escapable situation involving an overly complicated death trap.” basically the heroes are good/tough in a fight not because they are really that competent, well-attuned to their killer/survival instincts and thus adaptable to extreme conditions but because their enemy is a total clutz/stupid cartoony super-villain that just so happens to let them play it on super easy-mode.

in this Sector Wars comic the bad terminator (without fail) always completely STOPS whatever it’s doing anytime it gets a clear, fat chance of terminating it’s main target, it always stops itself to nicely explain what it is and what it’s mission is and the future importance of it’s primary/secondary targets for assassination, how honorable, how polite, how nice…………….DO YOU SEE HOW FUCKING STUPID THIS IS ?

who was the main demographic for this comic ? little children ? i bet there is no way this crap was written for anybody above twelve years old.
