Yesterday we saw some set photos and there was a small banner hanging on the sat which said ‘Genisys’. Obviously as we have been asked to not report on such images we didn’t say anything but we presumed it would have some importance to the movie in terms of plot device or science related corporate business branding. We held our tongues… or should we say our fingers…

Well it looks like the movie now has an official title… Terminator Genisys…

Genetic Intelligence Systems? maybe a program or project being helmed by Cyberdyne Systems? or this definition was found on the Free Online Dictionary…

GENISYS General Identification System (computer system for biological identifications) this could make sense regarding flesh of the cyborgs.

Hasta la vista, baby. Thx to cast & crew. Can’t wait to remind fans why they fell in love with @Terminator on 7/1/15. http://t.co/oazzne8NEb

    — Arnold (@Schwarzenegger) August 6, 2014

This tweet then directs us to Instagram!

@Schwarzenegger: “Hasta la vista, baby. I want to thank the cast and crew of @TerminatorGenisys for a fantastic shoot. It was challenging, it was fun, and it was rewarding. From our director to our producers, from the camera team to the catering, from visual effects to hair and makeup – we couldn’t have done it without you. I can’t wait to see our finished product and I know we’ll remind the fans why they fell in love with the Terminator. On July 1st, 2015, I’ll be back.”

The official Terminator Genisys Instagram Account then #ReGram’d the post:

Arnold looks at a screen that is probably for some kind of conference/event that will feature in the movie about project Genisys. Obviously he is sat in a chair which reveals the title of the new movie.

In Arnold’s tweet he also mentions @Terminator This is obviously the official Twitter page for the movie. Funnily enough we were on this account the other day and it just seemed like a name grab page that wasn’t very active, it didn’t have the current branding it now displays. It is now obvious this was a sleeper account and was hiding; waiting to take it’s place in the marketing of the movie.

The official instagram obviously is also revealed. Now we expect the websites will kick into some form of activity soon.

    Post by Skydance Productions.

www.TerminatorMovie.com and www.TheTerminatorMovie.com seem to be waiting in place for something… while www.TerminatorGenisys.com is parked with Godaddy.com

It is nice to see Arnold back, he may also be wearing skater style trainers in the movie… this is a hunch we get from seeing a double in set photos from scenes involving a tram in San Francisco (filming in the last couple of days).

So the movie is after all called Terminator: Genisys… a different spelling but said the same. How does the title sit with you?

Arnold states we are going to be reminded why we fell in love with Terminator. Still as always we are interested in finding out the age rating for this movie, which will have a huge impact on our excitement for the project. Some Terminator fans simply refuse to watch PG-13 movies even if they do star Arnold Schwarzenegger. EX3 is the latest victim of some fans refusing to watch the movie but apparently EX3 will get an R Rated home release. If Genisys is PG-13 they will have to do something of a similar nature to please all fans of this franchise.

For Archival purposes we will now mimic the above Tweets and Instagram for our records should content ever become unavailable on the social network websites.

The official Facebook page for the movie is now located here.

Please comment and share your opinion on the new name below.

Genisys really? I didn’t mind Genesis but no. Just no. It makes it sound like they’re trying too hard to make it sound all futuristic but it just doesn’t work.

That would abbreviate to GIS. So it further proves my point. It doesn’t fit is what I’m saying.

Rather unfortunate abbreviation. Hopefully not a sign of things to come.

I don’t mind Genisys, I mean, who cares? At least it doesn’t sound reboot-ish like “Terminator”.
I’m still worried about the cast. I think the lack of Linda and Michael is one hell of a missed opportunity.
I hope they’ll bring the iconic actors in the next part (with Arnold of course).

A good movie should solidify the name.

Hello Reg. I find the name Genesys to be a good idea for a company. I would interpret it to mean ‘in the beginning’ or ‘new creation’ or ‘never before AI technology that surpasses anything that Scientists could ever hope to accomplish’. Skynet is the most powerful computer ever created and is consistently improving exponentially. I believe this is how it could create an ‘Arnie cyborg’, using mankind to forcibly or ‘promised rewards’ to make and assemble the parts. I guess that once they have their own cyborg, there would be no further need for humans.

if it´s PG-13 will be nothing. It should be a reboot but with an solid argument and story, like Nolan´s batman and not just a blockbuster just with millions of dollars expent on FX. But I´m pesimist and I don´t think Alan Taylor is the ideal director to do this….
