There you go! What did you think of the trailer?

Arnold Schwarzenegger is also doing a Q & A and has been building some buzz of his own on Facebook.
Here is the opinion of the webmaster a die-hard fan of the first Terminator movie and we should have another video from another member of staff to follow who loved T3 and Salvation. So check back for that for a different varied opinion.

My thoughts:
– Opening was fine, future war like we all wanted, sure theres normal guns but did you see that bad boy Connor held, that looked future as f*ck – *phew phew!*
– Connors mother speech instantly reminded me of Salvation, can’t be helped i suppose, setting the story for potential newbies.
– The Time Displacement build up and image was super cool, it’s a first for us T-fans, music worked well with that.
– I really like the shot for shot T1 entry, I hoped that was how it would be.
– T-1000 looks bad ass, so many shades of RP, CG is a little funky but early days still.
– Totally bought into the “Come with me if you want to live”, i mean, it HAD to be said, duh!
– Really like the look of the setup, Reeses confusion at the alternate timeline, tailing off into the ‘Pops’ Arnie approach from T1.
– Absolutely baffled at why on earth they did a CG copy of the T1 Arnie entry shot, couldn’t they have used the original shot from the original film??! That looked so unpolished.
– I don’t mind the look of the T-1000 (cut hand and javelin throw), i’m fine with that.
– Also 2:05 !!!!POTENTIAL SPOILER!!!! – When SC is frantically shooting the ceiling you see ‘Pops’ over her shoulder and he’s just standing there, doing nothing, bit odd – shutdown mode?
– Now !!!!SPOILERS ALERT!!!!!! we see ‘pops’ take someone through a Pepsi machine (nice reference by the way!) but for those who are vigilant, have a look again at WHO he’s fighting, bit silly that it’s made into into the trailer, those savvy enough with leaked scripts will notice things adding up.
– Bike jump, nice reference – but can we remind ourselves they said this reboot WOULDN’T nod too much towards the originals.
– The bus, just, what? Suspicious family film action moment alert
– “I’ll be back” – yeah yeah, ok, we all know. We’ll just suspend the fact that a fully metal endoskeleton has great aerodynamics huh
That isn’t pops over the shoulder it’s another Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney) a homage to the T2 scene in which the T-1000 replicates Sarah Connor. All nods and homages. Reset? Standalone?
T-1000 Javelin style throw was an interesting move to delve into… will he walk over and absorb it into his foot like T2? Maybe.
I’m curious as someone who knows the ‘spoiler’ wouldn’t you rather have not known it when you see the movie?
If the movie is good enough,- engrossing enough, then it shouldn’t matter what we’ve seen before, or what we’ve heard. The content should speak for itself…
So you’d rather not have the surprise, got it. thanks.
The trailer itself is filled with spoilers- have you seen it?
Yes, we’re talking about a spoiler not in the trailer.
well! this is it! i’ve been waiting for a year or so for this trailer and the O-face photos of the actors on the airfield made me cringe so, i had mixed feelings for this movie. So what are my thoughts? Well, the 2029 future looks pretty cool, the resistance seems to have the upper hand on the battle unlike T1 but i guess it’s because the timeline got altered due to T2 and T3, the T-800 endoskeletons look good, maybe a bit too shiny and polished but they also miss arnold’s crooked teeth! Oh well, at least they don’t look as bad as the SCC cgi terminators. We finally got to see how time travel works and i’m pleased! We also see how Kyle got there along with the terminator, although i’m still mad Jai Courtney was casted. They took the actor who looked the less like Michael Biehn! WTF? They well replicated the alleyway and clothing shop from 1984, although it’s not perfect (not enough smoke and garbage on the floor!) The T1 terminator arrival was replicated seamlessly although it misses some ”Nice night for a walk eh?” (maybe it will be in the movie who knows?) the action looks pretty cool and the changed timeline is not that bad of an idea but i want new things! i like the fan service of T1 and T2 but this is basically saying Hey! remember those old movies that you like? Anyways, i’m just too nitpicky i guess. This looks PG-13 to me and it’s sad how they want to reach kids who don’t know shit about terminator while at the same time, you alienate your fans, look at the expendables 3 and tell me how that turned out? Well the verdict? the movie looks fun and got me excited even more maybe it will be good, maybe it will kill off the franchise, we’ll have to see the movie and judge for ourselves.
We are “nitpicky” too. The Terminator was always grounded in a sense of reality (in Jim Cameron’s films at least). CGI is here again to threaten that reality. The rule of physics goes out the window. Continual homages and poor CGI (benefit of the doubt on the CGI as we all know CGI can and may be polished/altered). There are positives and negatives. I think the problem with this trailer is too much is going on all at once, it’s a cluster fuck of CGI. Terminator Fans love practical effects… Where is Stan Winston’s Legacy being honored here?
Corner cutting is the new art.
Emilia Clarke failed on the delivery of “come with me if you want to live” and the CGI looks bad. like something from 2000. the Terminators look shiny but their heads look a bit smaller. or is it just me?
the time travel machine is pretty much what i pictured. in the TSCC series it did show Terminators dragging 747 engines to the time travel machine for use as power sources but it didn’t actually show the machine itself.
i like that they recreated the 1984 setting but i am a bit confused as to which timeline they’re using. and will we get to see more of the future war? and the SkyNet pyramid/core and the T-Meg. and the creation of T-1000s? on TSCC they showed how its just a blob of liquid metal and how it has to sample by physical contact to get it’s initial form. but will they show any of this in the movie. or any of the research that SkyNet does about human anatomy, etc?
i have a bad feeling that they’ve killed the franchise. but i think i will have to go see it anyway on the big screen. and its in 3D. i don’t know about that. maybe it will add more depth or maybe it will be a gimmick? who knows? all in all i have mixed feelings about this and i don’t know if they can do it justice.
I want add something: In the Q&A Arnold reply’s on concerns if he has a leading role, because he is not much visible in the trailer: “I have the starring role and you see me throughout the entire movie.”
look at 0:53 to the right of John Connor, is that Matt Smith? They have the same hair and body shape… http://www.joblo.com/newsimages1/Terminator-genisys-cast.jpg
Well spotted. We did notice. He is a member of the Resistance but is he human? He will apparently play an “original” character…
Bike Jump..that was awesom
about that scene in 2:05..when she says RUUN..kyle rees runaway from the left side
and the one in the right was Arnold with white hair..u didnt notice that?
Let me be frank. T3 and Salvation bored me. Sadly, this trailer inspires little confidence. Maybe they (director/writers) can pull a Hail Mary.
