With the new IMDb update that Dana Goldberg (Terminator Genisys) is now a producer on Terminator 6; on checking her IMDb account it says that the status of Terminator 6 is now in pre-production.
With news that Terminator 6 will be a sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day and will star original cast members; Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger, things are already looking more positive for the franchise. The pre-production of Terminator 6 will now hopefully allow the studios to finely tune the project in preparation for production and make sure the next movie lives up to the first two Terminator movies.

Why is James Cameron producing this movie? Doesn’t he typically DIRECT movies, where he can have more influence on the nuances of it’s creation and build it to suit his vision?
Maybe he will direct T7 or the trilogy finale (T8).
