Robert was responsible for flying / aerial wire effects – being most notable for his work on the Christopher Reeve ‘Superman’ movie saga, with use of wires and screen projection techniques, audiences were led to believe that a man could fly. Mostly credited as ‘Bob Harman’ on productions, Robert contributed to movies such as: Time Bandits, The Dark Crystal, Star Wars: Episode VI – Return of the Jedi, The Princess Bride, High Spirits and many more.

T3: Rise of the Machines had numerous sequences using aerial wire rigs, that Robert would have been involved with. One of the most memorable being Arnold Schwarzenegger holding a coffin which was supported via wire rigs and an aerial crane.

Fights between the T-X and the T-850 also used wires at times, to safely transition through / into surroundings, floors and give the illusion that the machines were in full on battle. Another pivotal T3 scene was the bathroom fight at CRS Labs, which featured SkyNet’s finest destroying the plumbing; crumpling toilet cubicles and throwing each other around for some insane action.

    RIP Robert Harman
