Terminator: Dark Fate obliterated the SkyNet and John Connor timeline (quite literally), but fans who opposed the decision to kill John Connor (and to a degree, the Terminator franchise) can now look forward to the restoration of the SkyNet timeline of events in the form of a fan film starring the original adult General John Connor himself, Mr. Michael Edwards.
Michael Edwards told us at TheTerminatorFans.com that:
“Re-creating John Connor is a real treat. I’m eagerly looking forward to working on this project!”Michael Edwards
“Fifty years after Judgment Day, the last man on earth (John Connor), finally comes face to face with Skynet itself, as they discuss the heavy price of their war. But can our broken world be fixed? Or is it too late?”SKYNET – A Terminator Fan Film

Chris .R. Notarile of Blinky Productions Inc. explained his vision to TheTerminatorFans.com:
It is safe to say that this short is unlike any other Terminator film that has come before it. That includes fan films as well. My short is designed to terminate the franchise. To give this troubled series the proper ending it never had.Chris .R. Notarile
I’ve been thinking about this for a while now, and as much as I love the Terminator franchise, I think we can all agree that every sequel after T2 has been a letdown. Splintered timelines, stories and plots that went nowhere. Unanswered questions. Convoluted subplots. Straight up hatred towards the first two films in favor of lackluster retreads. It’s all one big mess, and needs to end. That’s where my short comes in. Skynet will be the ending we all need. Hopefully, everyone will enjoy and accept it as canon.
Filming will take place in early March. Michael [Edwards] is eagerly awaiting his Covid shot, and we don’t want to film till he gets it. This film is 100% Covid safe. Since I don’t have a crew, it’s just myself, plus cast, which in this case is a grand total of three people. Everyone will be tested before filming and I will wear a mask as well. It’s not an ideal situation, but it’s the safest way to go in these trying times.
Are you looking forward to Michael Edwards’ return to the Terminator mythos?
