Over the course of Tim’s career he worked on over 300 projects, including: The Accused, Heathers, Bill & Ted’s Excellant Adventure, Tales from the Crypt, The Hunt for Red October, True Lies, Terminator 2: Judgment Day and much much more.

During Tim Boyle’s journey through the industry of sound; he worked with many iconic and noteworthy individuals, such as: The Rolling Stones, Peter Frampton, Eric Clapton, Heart and Whitney Houston.

We had the great pleasure to interview Mr. Boyle about his his record label ‘Waxsimile Productions’, his involvement with the Terminator franchise, his experience with James Cameron, working with composer – Brad Fiedel, and what drew him to sound engineering in the first place.

Tim and his daughter Briget formed ‘Waxsimile Productions’; a record label which allowed them to freely pick and choose which projects they produced and funded – one of the last projects Tim completed before he passed away was a Terminator 2: Judgment Day medley – as part of an ongoing project titled Enhanced Replications:

“In the summer months of 1991, film fans worldwide were treated to Jim Cameron’s blockbuster, Terminator 2: Judgment Day; no one requested a refund.
Brad Fiedel’s sledgehammer score spawned terror and mayhem like no other music before, and now Enhanced Replications brings you the definitive metal execution of that score. Tim Boyle, the mixer of Brad’s iconic score met Jeremy Krull, metal guitar wizard and the Enhanced Replications was born. “When I heard Jeremy’s music, along with Brad’s sage advice, I knew his behemoth guitar sound would lift this music to a totally new level.” Terminator 2: Judgement Day for the 21st century is here, enjoy the menace.”

Tim Boyle’s connection to Terminator 2: Judgment Day is a rich and interesting piece of movie history, which adds depth and backstory to the freshly “enhanced” cover by the talented Jeremy Krull.

It’s a joy to see love for the Terminator series expressed in new ways a quarter century after the else of T2. And a connection between Terminator and Bill & Ted? Bonus!
