1991’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day is known for breaking technological boundaries and creating memorable moments; moments which have become entrenched in the minds of viewers of the James Cameron directed science fiction blockbuster. Widely regarded as one of the only movie sequels to surpass its predecessor; the movie was ranked at #77 on the American Film Institute‘s list of ‘100 Years…100 Thrills‘ – which featured the most exciting movies in American cinema.

Many movies, TV shows and other forms of media / entertainment have paid homage to the classic film over the decades – with quotes and impersonations abounding, it’s easy to see why the movie continues to remain relevant in pop culture even today, some 29 years after its initial theatrical debut.

The latest homage to T2 comes in the form of the iconic ‘bunny boiler‘ from Fatal Attraction, Glenn Close, uttering the classic line of “Hasta La Vista, baby” in the trailer for the movie ‘Hillbilly Elegy‘.

Directed by Ron Howard, the film, based on the book of the same name (written by J.D. Vance), is an exploration of the trials and tribulations of three generations of a family living in Middletown, Ohio.

Glenn Close plays a character named Mamaw Vance, the matriarch of the family, who has apparently seen T2 “about a hundred” times and describes people as:

“Everyone in this world is one of three kinds: Good Terminator, a bad Terminator, and neutral.”

    Mamaw Vance (Glenn Close)

Hillybilly Elegy is set to hit selected theaters and Netflix on November 24, 2020.
