Carolco Pictures is BACK!

Carolco Pictures was responsible for producing Terminator 2: Judgment Day. Unfortunately the company had some serious financial issues and  folded after the box-office bomb that was Cutthroat Island,- the breakdown of legendary production company was one of the reasons the rights to the Terminator franchise went into legal hell.

Much like the recent revival of Orion Pictures Carolco Pictures is back in good old Terminator fashion…

The slogan says it all and Mario Kassar is back in the picture. Mario as a producer is fond of Terminator and producer Gale Anne Hurd wants to reboot the franchise,-Jim Cameron has also expressed interest in perhaps re-imagining the franchise.

Will Carolco be pursuing Terminator when the rights revert back to Jim Cameron? … Could they possibly team up with Orion?

Two power-house production companies are back in business and may eagerly want a slice of good ‘ole Terminator pie.

This can mean only good things for the Terminator property and it’s future prospects as a series/franchise.
