Emilia Clarke, Brie Larson, Margot Robbie and Evan Rachel Wood were all, at one point, rumored or in the running, to take over from Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor for 2015’s Terminator reboot – ‘Terminator Genisys’.

Ultimately, Emilia Clarke went head-to-head with Brie Larson for the role but due to the fact that Game of Thrones director Alan Taylor, was already selected to direct the fifth installment in the Terminator franchise; it seemed more than likely Emilia would bag the role… which she did.

Brie Larson has just launched a Youtube channel and shared the story of auditioning for Terminator.

“I auditioned for The Hunger Games, I auditioned for the Terminator reboot…”

    Brie Larson

    Brie continued

“… I actually was thinking about the Terminator reboot today, because I got a flat tire and I was like ‘Oh the last time I got a flat tire was when I was driving into my audition for Terminator’, got a flat tire at the audition and then didn’t get the job.”

    Brie Larson

Brie not getting the role of Sarah Connor may have seemed like bad luck to the actress (at the time) but it was clearly more of a blessing in disguise, as Ms. Larson went on to star in 2015’s ‘Room’ for which she won an Academy Award for Best Actress.

Do you think Terminator Genisys would have been improved with the inclusion of Brie Larson in the role of Sarah Connor?

Hi, my name is Milton and I’m from Argentina,I am a professor of Art and a graduate in Graphic Design at the University of Buenos Aires (U.B.A.) I don’t know what year you are going to locate Sarah Connor, for me if you want to make Sara Connor from Terminator 2 the actress who most resembles or is similar is RHONA MITRA. Emilia Clarke has a look very similar to the Sarah of 1984, Brie Larson has that tough look, maybe Brie could do more than a female terminator like TX.Brie seems different to Sarah Connor, but well, I can be wrong, Ask other Terminator fans too.I wish you all the best of luck.

This film couldn’t be saves by any actors as it’s problem is crazy script and bad producing: “Instead of creating something new, let’s take all terminators we have and put them into one movie”. During the scripting phase there were T-800 of T1, T2 and T-850 of T3 at once without any explanation of how did they get there and what the hell they were doing there? Lately they removed T-850 replacing him with revived T-800 of T1 but other question remained unanswered. Alan Taylor seems inexperienced to me, it was a mistake to give such a complex film into the hands of TV series director, Emilia Clarke is somewhat OK but she’s not Sarah by any means, this is simply not her type of character. But the main problem is with producer: David Ellison is constantly intervenes into production process dictating other what and how they should do. To me he simply spends his father’s money as he have no talent in producing at all, the results are mediocre movies created out of relics of once great franchises. Dark Fate, which he produced with the same intention of “reinventing by remaking”, is another evidence of this statement.
