Natalia Reyes spoke to HOLA! USA about her experience of working on Terminator: Dark Fate with her fellow cast and more.
Hi I am Natalia Reyes and I’m here in HOLA! USA, and I’m starring in the next Terminator movie.
HOLA!: Has acting been something you always wanted to do?
I was born in Colombia, and I started acting when I was nine years. I started doing musical theater, when I was 16 or something; I had to decide what was I going to do, and I wanted to be an actress.
It seemed so impossible, and so FAR, you know to actually become an actress and to live out of acting.
HOLA!: What was your reaction to getting this role?
It was such a big surprise. I didn’t really expect to be on a Terminator franchise. I got the audition from my manager in Colombia. I did it; I self-taped and I sent it without even expecting anything.
After like five callbacks they just told me I was the one. I was so excited. It was an amazing experience. We were shooting for six months, all over and it was just like learning and being so amazed at being in such a big movie.
HOLA!: What was Arnold Schwarzenegger like?
We were actually talking a lot about ecology and sustainability. He cares about the environment, and I do, so that was what we were talking most. I think he’s 74 years old, he is beyond many things. I think he is now enjoying life and doing what he wants and he loves politics. He is a cool guy.
HOLA!: What was it like working with Diego Boneta and the rest of the cast?
It was most of the time with Linda Hamilton and Mackenzie Davis. The three of us, we became close friends, and they were absolutely generous and they are really talented. I learned a lot from them and it was really nice to be all together, and Diego Boneta was also there. It was great to have someone from Latin America speaking Spanish and being connected by the food that we wanted to eat. It was fun. He is a family guy, he loves his family. That is really Latin I think – so, yeah, we connected. He is a good friend now.
HOLA!: What can we expect from Terminator: Dark Fate?
I think it is gonna be really exciting for the fans. I think it is going to be shocking because there are different things coming; there are new characters. It’s going to be really amazing how this Mexican world is going to mix with the American old franchise, and I think it’s going to be diverse.
