You may remember that back in September 2020 we reported on a fan-made animation which brought Arnold Schwarzenegger’s Terminator to the world of Fortnite. Well, it looks like The Terminator may be officially coming to Fortnite sooner than we think…
Terminator, and Fortnite, Fan ‘The Stikanator‘ told us at TheTerminatorFans.com that:
“Fortnite recently launched its newest season which is based around hunters and dimensions colliding.
The Stikanator
There was a recent crossover with God of War which added Kratos into the game, and there has been a leak that indicated Master Chief from the Halo franchise was coming as well. When you look at other r rated crossovers in the past; John Wick, Borderlands, Stranger Things, and the fact that Fortnite has referenced The Terminator numerous times before. It all just really adds up.”
Twitch streamer, @thesquatingdog, was sent a care package which contains numerous clues for Season 5 of Fortnite.
In the care package was a pair of sunglasses that look remarkably similar to the Persol sunglasses that Arnold Schwarzenegger wore in Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
As The Stikanator pointed out; this season is all about dimensions colliding, and hunters, so The Terminator could show up through one of the rifts which connect to numerous dimensions.
For anyone who has doubts about the inclusion of a Terminator in the world of Fortnite – a T-3500 Terminator (AKA Travis Scott) has already been featured in the game.
An easter egg to Sarah Connor / attire was already featured in the game a while back… Also notice the future war style setting on a playground, and the Sarah Connor nightmare playing out at the chain-link fence with a skeleton.

If Terminator does come to Fortnite it won’t be the first time that there has been a machine uprising in the game. The A.I.M skin was an in-joke at those players who used aim bots in the game to cheat their way to the top ranks.
Also worth noting is the fact that Epic Games, the publisher behind Fortnite, is co-owned by Tencent, the Chinese tech giant which was a big investor in Terminator: Dark Fate; Tencent also made a huge investment in Reddit in the lead up to the Dark Fate leaks, and, well – most of the leaks for Fortnite seem to occur on Reddit too… so it all interconnects.
It is still a possibility that the version of Terminator which may arrive in Fortnite could very well be a Terminator: Dark Fate ‘Carl‘ skin – the sunglasses, though seemingly indicative of a more classic T-800 (ala T2), might simply be the easiest means of the publisher conveying a Terminator-esque clue to players (other possible clues being; leather jacket or motorbike).
Yes, we do realise that Carl didn’t actually wear sunglasses in Dark Fate, but the sunglasses were in fact present in the movie and promotion materials.
Also the playable T-800 in Mortal Kombat 11 was described as “The Terminator T-800“, with the full reveal of it being Carl coming much later.

Personally, I feel Fortnite is pretty cringe, but I also believe everybody deserves to experience Terminator so yeah, why keep it from them? The more Terminator the merrier. I mean the franchise is a joke at this point so I’m not surprised all that people want to do is troll others with Arnold doing a Fortnite dance because our culture has pretty much unofficially forgotten that Terminator was about killing machines ripping out their targets hearts and instead view these machines as awkward comic relief spouting puns or being thrown aside like ragdolls so…yeah. Arnold’s T800 being a meme in Fortnite is just as fun a idea as it is a terrible realization that more people are gonna be talking about it or meming him than about the actual Terminator films that have been made with him in the last 17 years. It’s pretty disheartening to see a killing machine reserved to a silly skin doing quirky dance moves but if it makes people happy playing the game with him then I guess there’s nothing wrong with it.
Though if they do put him in the game, I hope they put Salvation’s John Connor in the game too. It’s the closest we’re gonna get to seeing that version of JC again. I Sure as hell would rather take him over Sarah Connor.
