As we reported back in March; Lorne Balfe will be responsible for the Terminator Genisys Motion score.

We can now confirm that that this will be an orchestral score (like the previous 2 T installments T3 and TS) which was recently recorded at Air Studios in London (UK).

For whatever reason things just never came to pass with the originally reported composer Christophe Beck.

The first day of recording took place on April 20th.

Danny Elfman also recorded the Terminator Salvation score at the very same studio. Also the RoboCop reboot, Avengers: Age of Ultron, The Dark Knight and Dredd’s score was recorded at Air Studios too. They seem a popular choice for Hollywood!

Lorne tweeted various pictures which were then Re-Tweeted by Air Studios

April 24th saw the drum tracks being layed down for the score which composer Lorne seemed to be very happy with…

A conductor for Genisys? Also made a tweet on a fresh air break. It is unknown if he was having a sly “pack of cigarettes” or not…

The score was then being mixed on the 5th of May. The process seems to have been quite quick. Work continued on the 7th of May…

Now, after mixing the tracks; mastering should be on the agenda, whether Alan Meyerson was responsible for this or whether Hans Zimmer has involvement in the final process of sound is unknown. We can probably come to the conclusion that the score is complete in terms of recording. Whether mixing and mastering is complete is unknown but with the speedy process we wouldn’t be surprised if it’s in the bag already and ready to be applied to the movie very soon!

So are you looking forward to hearing the sound of the machines in Terminator Genisys?
