Well, even though we have had positive news about Terminator 2 3D (the movie) we are now met with concerns for the gaming side of the license.
On gaining a closer look at the cabinet for the first of three new T2 gambling video game machines; we were somewhat taken aback to see elements of the Terminator Genisys Endoskeleton redesign within the display and also the redesigned plasma rifles which featured in Terminator Genisys.
While we noted the involvement of Paramount Pictures you can also bet Skydance Productions is lurking behind Terminator 2 3D too- even in some form of investment capacity. In cases like this the mention of Paramount Pictures = Skydance Productions because Skydance currently own the rights to make Terminator ‘movies’.
A note from the press release for the game…
GameCo’s proprietary VGM is an arcade-style cabinet featuring a single-player 45-90 second video game, adapted from top console, PC, and mobile games.
The graphics displayed on the monitor of the cabinet are exactly the same as Glu Mobiles Terminator Genisys game. Here is the same screen shot from TERMINATOR GENISYS: GUARDIAN (originally branded as Terminator Genisys: Revolution; before Schwarzenegger was included into the game after being poorly received).

We find it pretty lazy to be honest. Why would we want to play a game,- to see things we disliked glaring at us from a screen that demands money, featuring graphics from a free Terminator Genisys gaming app that constantly gave a barrage of gambling adverts during gameplay on top of wanting players to spend money on in-game purchases oh and to gain your personal information?
We hope this matter will be addressed and that effort will be taken to make the game authentic to the 1991 movie and not have the stain of Terminator Genisys worming into the T2 brand because we simply will not tolerate it. This is not SkyNet, these are not real Endoskeletons and those things they are holding are not phased plasma rifles! This is bootleg below par nonsense with the T2 brand slapped on it, and it makes us sick.
The hope comes in the form of the word “reworked”. If they don’t do some major reworking then why pay to play? Just download Terminator Genisys: Guardian to your mobile and play the thing for free…

How do you feel about the possibility of a Terminator Genisys product making money as a Terminator 2: Judgment Day umbrella branded product? This franchise is obviously being run by the clueless with nothing but love for money… this is not love,- otherwise it would be a thriving property and it just simply isn’t anymore. We feel sorry for James Cameron and the people who actually care deeply… or maybe, just maybe, it’s the fans alone who care now.

Okay, I know everyone hated Genisys, but I loved it. Sarah and Pops was nice, but yes we do need Linda and Micheal back instead of Emilia and Jai. And maybe John as the villain wasn’t so bright. Hey, we all have opinions! But I just think that T2 was a great movie, (the best) it made all of us cry at the end, it was deep like John said, it did make us think as humans should we rely on technology so much? But right now I want to crawl into a ball and cry because Jim made such a beautiful piece of work, and now it’s a huge marketing money racket. I’m heartbroken, they have messed something so wonderful up so badly. Now it’s just sad. Some things just have to be left alone. It is one way to stab a Terminator fan in the heart harshly. I’m sure loads of you grew up with T2 and must be just as depressed as I am. I just… what happened to something just so magnificent?
