Terminator 2: Judgment Day 3D will see the return of Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor to the big screen;- which in the US is courtesy of AMC Theaters in partnership with the official distributor Distrib Films US! The release of T2 in 3D also feels like a much needed push on a giant red reset button for the franchise,- putting us back on James Cameron’s timeline – Terminator 2 and his canon story are back on the map once again.
Numerous studios have tried to continue the Terminator story but let’s face it… it really didn’t work. While each studio had glimmers of something interesting to bring, or a new Terminator/plot point that was slightly interesting it was all too disjointed and none of the movies felt like true continuations of Terminator 2: Judgment Day but instead felt like reiterations/re-imaginings of a once mighty story which had its foundations already set in stone with The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day.
Many vital ingredients have been lost along the way but with the return of T2 3D we get all those ingredients BACK including Linda Hamilton as Sarah Connor…

It has been 10 years since the events of Terminator. Sarah Connor’s ordeal is only just beginning as she struggles to protect her son John, the future leader of the human resistance against the machines, from a new Terminator, sent back in time to eliminate John Connor while he’s still a child.
Sarah and John don’t have to face this terrifying threat alone however. The human resistance have managed to send them an ally, a warrior from the future ordered to protect John Connor at any cost.
The battle for tomorrow has begun….

I think where it’s going will be the continuation of what the fans really wanted since T2…
So if T2 3D’s return to various theaters across the world is resetting the franchise clock back to T2 then does this mean the badass “mother of the future” is coming back with Mr. Schwarzenegger to obtain success for this franchise once again? It seems logical and it surely would be insane not to do so especially as Linda Hamilton is an extreme fan favorite, with Hamilton and Schwarzenegger being the top 2 favorite actors of the franchise and topped our T6 poll for a return.
Even though Terminator 2 was a critical success and a huge summer blockbuster it was still independently financed, if we can remove idiotic investor demands, twitter trend movie casting and ageism off the cards then nothing is stopping Linda Hamilton and Arnold Schwarzenegger dominating the box office once again leading a strong ensemble cast of returning actors into the fold.
Getting back to the story we care about is far more important to the fans who never got what they wanted out of the failed sequels and reboots that followed Terminator 2.
Will Linda Hamilton be back in Terminator 6? We hope so! Oh, and make it Rated R just like the first two Terminator movies because Sarah Connor swears a lot and we love it when she does!
