Review: Terminator: Dark Fate Teddy Bear Collection by SKYNET

The Terminator: Dark Fate Teddy Bear Collection is definitely the cutest collectible set to come out of the movie.
Whilst Terminator: Dark Fate didn’t hit it off with the wider audience, it reunited series veterans Arnold Schwarzenegger and Linda Hamilton; and they are front and center in this collection – with Arnold Schwarzenegger’s character ‘Carl’ also having 3 variants; standard/ battle-damaged and a secret which is *spoiler* a full T-800 Endoskeleton.

The characters are instantly recognisable as Sarah, Carl, Dani, Grace or REV-9.
The detail in the clothing / accessories is more than you would expect, given the size of the collectibles. Sarah Connor’s sunglasses, for example, could have just been part of the figurines mould, simply painted black but no… the sunglasses are an additional part, and you can see the eyes through the lenses – making Sarah Connor one of the best crafted pieces of the series with the inclusion of her M72 LAW Rocket Launcher, it adds that extra magical detail that any Terminator: Dark Fate fan will really appreciate.

The PVC collectibles are solid, are a decent weight and have standard articulation with the head and arms.

Terminator: Dark Fate, much like Terminator Salvation and Terminator Genisys, began life as PG-13 but later down the line the decision was made to certify the project RATED R – because the fanbase (rightfully so) were unlikely to support another PG-13 Terminator movie, and it makes sense that a collectible like the Teddy Bear Collection was lined up for the movie but regardless we still feel it fits the franchise; and imagine a Friday the 13th or a Nightmare on Elm Street Teddy Bear Collection – we’d be there in a heartbeat!

We continue to stand by the idea that, as long as the movies stay Rated R and true to the first two (Terminator) movies, then that gives license holders leeway to bring us some cute collectibles.

SKYNET (the company behind this product) have really done a great job with this collection, and we would like to see them do more collections for the other Terminator movies – especially The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day but we also wouldn’t say no to the other movies.

These collectibles actually coincided with the movies release. SKYNET made a great collectible regardless of the success of Dark Fate (we can’t blame a collectible maker for the outcome of a movie). If these were Terminator 2: Judgment Day bears they would be shown so much more love.

SKYNET was the company that made these collectibles. SkyNet will be back!
