Robert Skotak who won an Oscar for best visual effects on Terminator 2 is involved in making a sci-fi/horror film by Creature FX Designer Alec Gillis, that will celebrate Animatronics and Makeup FX.
However the project needs the help of fans and is being funded via Kickstarter.
What is Harbinger Down?
In the spirit of sci-fi/horror classics, Alien and The Thing, Harbinger Down is a tense, claustrophobic full-length creature film that will feature only practical Animatronic and Makeup Effects.
Harbinger Down is a project that is in aid of keeping practical effects alive in the industry. Any real Terminator fan appreciates practical effects and miniatures over CGI overload. Terminator 5 will hopefully utilize as much Practical Effects as possible because to be frankly honest we NEVER want to see another CGI Endoskeleton EVER FUCKING AGAIN!
Robert Skotak is part of 4-Ward Productions. They showed us LA being blown to dust in miniature form.
