To continue the 30th Anniversary celebration of Terminator 2: Judgment Day STUDIOCANAL have partnered up with French video game publisher Gameloft to bring the Terminator universe to life for players of MMORTS (mass multiplayer online real-time strategy) game War Planet Online. The War Planet Online Terminator 2 event is set to launch soon, so keep reading to find out how to prepare for the upcoming SkyNet attack.
Terminator Fans will have the opportunity to team up with Sarah Connor and help her to prevent Judgment Day. Will you be able to survive the war against the machines?

“STUDIOCANAL are also partnering with Gameloft for a TERMINATOR 2-themed challenge in multiplayer real-time strategy game War Planet Online. Players will be able to join Sarah Connor to prevent Judgment Day, fighting Skynet’s T-800 Renegades and their war machines. Fans can compete in a series of events to prevent the end of the world, winning exclusive Terminator rewards along the way. TERMINATOR 2 will be integrated into the game from mid-October through to mid-December 2021.”

The Terminator franchise is no stranger to MMORTS gaming; the franchise connection to the genre started back in 2017 with Terminator: Resistance by Mogol Games, not to be confused with the console / PC FPS (first person shooter) that came out in 2019 bearing the same title.
In 2017’s Terminator: Resistance you also assisted The Terminator 1984‘s Sarah Connor and Kyle Reese in a future war scenario. Gathering resources, growing your base and researching technologies as you battle against SkyNet‘s never ending onslaught of terror.
Fans already familiar with Terminator: Resistance (2017), Terminator Genisys: Future War, or Terminator: Dark Fate – The Game, will certainly feel at home with fortifying bases and managing scarce resources in War Planet Online. Throw in some unique Terminator unlockables, Sarah Connor and hordes of SkyNet T-800 units and you’ll definitely be able to kill some time on your phone / device.
Keen Terminator Fans will also remember Gameloft for 2009‘s Terminator Salvation mobile games – for the time (roughly 12 years ago now) they were actually pretty good for a movie tie-in.
