Skydance Productions have just tweeted the following during our discussion with a fan (ilikefights) on twitter and they assure us of the following.
Skydance a while ago assured us they were trying to do something different with this franchise and the following tweet will relieve some fans out there.

We are glad to hear that this is a new story and not just the retreading of the first two movies like some sources have stated. A total fresh take and a new direction/story could mean the difference between this movie being good and a feared failure.
