John Connor (well one of them) is 36 years old today. Edward Furlong is constantly in the press for the wrong reasons and all TheTerminatorFans.com ever wanted was for this guy to hit the gym, take on his addictions and at least try for the role one last time. Fans will remember the disappointment at Edward not returning for a 3rd Terminator movie due to the studio not deeming his image clean enough for the Soft-Core Terminator movie. Even his replacement (Nick Stahl) is sadly now in a similar situation to Eddie.
We obviously have chosen not to go tabloid on Edwards ass and run stories on unfortunate life events but the man should know by now that many people care for him and are fans of his work. If Edward was to leave this world before his time it would be unfortunate but without putting a real fight up to reprise his role as the legendary John Connor there is little hope to ever see him return to the Terminator franchise unless Annapurna and Skydance really want to take risks and that is the problem… Edward is a risk, although he seems professional and willing to take projects on we can’t see a high profile franchise riding on a lot of money taking the risk on Edward and sadly we can’t blame them.
Edward was once set to be one of the greats of Hollywood and still could be but at the end of the day it is up to him to make that happen.
We wish Edward a Happy Birthday and we just hope that he can at least make the effort to try out for Terminator 5 by gaining some muscle and looking like the great military leader he was supposed to be in the first place if not there’s always Christian Bale or someone else… That’s if the character of John Connor is even in Terminator 5.
