The Terminator Reunion Panel took place on August the 18th at Silicon Valley Comic-Con 2019, in San Jose, where stars from three generations of Terminator movies (The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines) were in attendance to discuss the movies and answer some audience questions.

Once the floor was opened up for audience members to ask questions of the Terminator stars – the subject of Edward Furlong’s role as John Connor in Terminator: Dark Fate quickly arose.

    Transcribed by TheTerminatorFans.com:

Edward, I’ve got a question about Terminator: Dark Fate – so excited that you’re coming back, it’s fantastic.

    SVCC Audience Member

    Thank you.

    Edward Furlong

What can you reveal about your, uh, your coming back, is it maybe only gonna be CG likeness or are you, yourself, too gonna be in it?

    SVCC Audience Member

I’m not allowed to say anything, *laughter* um but yeah, um but uh, yeah man, I mean it’s a small role but it’s … you know, I’m in there man, I’m in there.

    Edward Furlong

So, what was it like to find out that you were going to be a part of this?

    Host, Clare Kramer

Like a blessing man. I was very excited you know, like really uh, yeah I was trying to turn my life around at that point – so I mean it was uh, it was kinda a good call to get, you know? It kinda felt like a gift from all that you know, plus I was supposed to do the other Terminator but I done fucked that shit up… *laughter*

    Edward Furlong

Eddie later stated of his role in T:DF:

I’m glad to be back on it, I’m really really happy to be doing it.

    Edward Furlong

Eddie sounds somewhat skittish about confirming or denying the capacity of his involvement in Terminator: Dark Fate (NDA’s have that effect) but what he did say seems very suggestive of a limited role.

Could this simply be yet another indication of the leaks being true? Is Eddie just a young John Connor digital likeness being mapped onto Jude Collie for an ill-fated trip to a Guatemalan bar?

Regardless of whether or not Eddie truly is back as John Connor in Terminator: Dark Fate – it’s great to hear that he’s doing well and staying focused on his recovery. We wish him the best of luck.

Do you think Eddie has a bigger role in the new movie than he’s suggesting?

Je pense qu’il fera une apparition dans le futur en tant que john adulte et espère le revoir pour un plus grand rôle dans une autre suite …T7 ? et j’aimerai vraiment revoir d’autres icones dans cette franchise !

If he is in it all then he is Truly Back, albeit in a limited role. I am very glad that he told us this this It allows us to manage our expectations. It shows that he still cares about us.

Eddie sure is excited for a “small role.” Either he’s in the movie for more that whats being said or hes just happy to get some work and get his name back out there. We shall see what Hollywood does…will John or the millennials lead the resistance?

Plus Robert Patrick could play his human counterpart as a scientist who works on skin stemcell research inside Skynets labs. He succeeds in developing the metal palyolyoy. So by testing it on himself it ultimately becames his near demise. But just when everyone thinks hes died . He attacks everyone who’s remaining inside its labs just like how the T1000 kills . So that overall could be how the T1000 is made perhaps. By a sciencet who became to big for his shoes so he payed the ultimate price by testing it on himself.

This looks kind of embarrassing. I think Eddie needs to work on his responses.
