Arnold Talks About Terminator Reboot Leather Jacket and Cast Replacement

We can finally confirm Arnold Schwarzenegger will be wearing the trademark Leather Jacket in the next Terminator movie, each movie attempts a new style… will they pay homage by reusing an old 1984 Jacket or will it be a new style we have never seen before?

Through leaked set photos it had become apparent that Emilia Clarke will wear a leather jacket in the new Terminator movie as we saw her stunt double wearing it but none of the set photos revealed Arnold wearing a leather jacket… they did however reveal the other half of the costume; his combat pants and T-Shirt.

This is something we managed to miss back in April at the UK Press Conference for Sabotage which took place at the Savoy hotel in London. Arnold Schwarzenegger discussed some details of the new Terminator movie and most notably the wardrobe tests.

Schwarzenegger:

“I don’t have it in my contract to go down to New Orleans… Next week… to practice, to rehearse,… to do camera tests for the wardrobe you need to test it for the screen. There’s nothing in my contract for that but of course I want to go. You want to go because you want to have the director, you know Alan Taylor who is a fantastic director; I want him to have the ability to make the right choices and the only way to make the right choices is if he sees on film what the clothes look like, what does this leather jacket look like, what do these combat pants look like, what boots look like, what does his shirt look like, how does he look in his T-Shirt, how does he look with this hair cut, all of this. And this is why you go down for 3 or 4 days, hang out with the director, do all the tests, work with the stunt co-ordinators. It’s not in the contract but you do it because common sense tells you that this is the right thing to do to make the movie successful.”

Schwarzenegger:

“The next movie for instance… Terminator. They bought the rights that were available for future Terminator movies and they came to me. I felt very honored because everyone else was replaced in the movie, I felt very honored that they got me back in the movie, I love that character, you know playing a machine.”
