The new ‘Terminator’ Movie has had no presence at Comic Con and the thunder has been deservedly stolen by Mad Max: Fury Road. This first Look Trailer doesn’t sound like the footage that was exactly shown at Comic Con as R-Rated violence and Lizard eating was described.

    Mad Max Tom Hardy

Mad Max is a chase movie and Fury Road aims to be a movie that is a continuous chase movie, with minimal dialogue but continuous action and visuals doing most of the story telling. A core element to terminator is also built upon the chase element.

Mad Max Fury Road isn’t a reboot but instead a prequel, although Mel Gibson has obviously been replaced- this aims to be the origin of Mad Max.

The visual style of George Miller is also back, a visual style mimicked by 2009’s Terminator Salvation. George Miller is the original writer and director of the original 3 Mad Max movies and to Mad Max fans this is the equivalent of James Cameron directing and writing a new terminator movie.

Tom Hardy was also Alan Taylor’s (Director of new Terminator movie) first choice to play John Connor in the new movie but they didn’t get Hardy obviously.

Until the new Terminator movie makes a bold statement about intent- Mad Max looks set to trump Terminator in terms of scope and possible R Rated madness.

Mad Max is a post-apocalyptic movie we are very interested in and the trailer was a visual feast.

You can also see The Terminator and the original Mad Max go head to head in EX3.
