The studios describe Terminator: Genesis as being kinda like the first movie and the second movie but combined as one, which was the original intention of series creator James Cameron but due to budget and technology restrictions we never saw a liquid metal Arnold Schwarzenegger in 1984’s “The Terminator” nor did we get the subplot of Sarah and Kyle on a mission to blow up Cyberdyne Systems together to change the fate of the earth. It has been explained that by the end of Genesis the series will head in a completely new direction than the original series… what direction…
Deadline.com has released news that the new trilogy is going ahead. Now we were very skeptical of the new trilogy being rushed because they only have until 2018 to make the proposed trilogy. In 2018 a legal loophole will see the series creator James Cameron back in control of the franchise he sold for a dollar cup of coffee. This in no way means that he will be making a new Terminator movie, he may just stop people from making any more films. We wanted Linda Hamilton back and so we came up with the idea that she hadn’t really died… she’d gone into hiding after faking her death to perhaps resurface in the future. Another idea was to bring Lance Henriksen back into the role of Detective Hal Vukovich as a wheel chair bound character who survived his encounter with the cop killer of 1984 but the main thing is the majority of people complained about Arnold’s age…
To us Terminator: Genesis sounds like a lame excuse for a Terminator movie; no-one likes a reboot but that’s what it is. Annapurna Pics is a name that got us excited due to their production of indie projects but we expressed extreme concerns when Skydance Productions got involved- due to their polar opposite range of movies, big, brash action movies with no soul. Annapurna Pictures is now officially leaping from the Terminator: Genesis train, possibly before it crashes and burns on the proverbial funeral pyre of the fans hopes and dreams. So the woman who bought the Terminator franchise (Megan…
