Terminator Franchise Cast + Crew Respond To COVID-19 Pandemic

Terminator COVID-19

The Covid-19 pandemic is still causing panic and fear – disrupting and destroying lives, with many people on lockdown; isolating and social distancing, whether through symptoms or of their own volition, and in some cases, forced by their workplace being a part of the lockdown.

The Terminator franchise itself has been pretty self-aware of the Coronavirus, with fans having had some great encouragement from their role models but also – some members of the franchise have been suffering too.

Tristan Ulloa Tested Positive For Coronavirus:

The actor who played the Uncle of Dani Ramos in Terminator: Dark Fate, recently tested positive for the virus and was quarantined in Hospital Universitario Infanta Leonor.
Mr. Ulloa has thanked hospital workers via Instagram in a video where the actor was obviously suffering, and tearful, from the physical, mental and emotional toll the virus has taken.

“Here, at the Infanta Leonor hospital, I am surrounded by heroes. I’ve been very lucky despite the positive, so don’t worry: everything is under control and I’m in the best hands. I know we will get out of this and when that happens I will swell up to kiss you and hug you all. Until then, please stay home and join efforts because this is for everyone and for everyone. Let’s fight today. Tomorrow will be another day.
I love you, I miss you … everything will be fine ❤️ # let’s go”

We wish Tristan the best at this difficult time, and hope he has a speedy recovery.

Terminator: Dark Fate actor nearly died from Coronavirus:

Stuntman Gianluca Di Medio told Daily Mail TV that he spent six days on a ventilator in the intensive care unit of a hospital on the North Korean border.
Fans may remember Di Medio from a report we ran previously, confirming reshoots on Dark Fate, and that he would be playing ‘Dani’s Soldier’. Of course Di Medio was one of the future war soldiers who helped to save young Grace (Stephanie Gil) in the future war of Terminator: Dark Fate.

Lucas has now fully recovered and continues to warn people of the severity of the virus.

Arnold Schwarzenegger Leading the Charge:

Who’d have thought that the weapon sent back in time to eradicate the human race (The Terminator) would turn out to be such a great advocate in these critical times? Yes, Arnold Schwarzenegger has been actively encouraging the world to #StayHome and has also been leading the charge in combating the devastation caused by Covid-19…

Arnold Sports Festival Cancellation:

Arnold Schwarzenegger and his Arnold Sports Festival team have taken on-board governmental concern from experts, scientists and doctors, regarding the COVID-19 crisis – making the decision to postpone the health and fitness convention, so as not to put the 250,000+ potential visitors to the event at risk.

Whiskey, Lulu and Cherry Look Cute for the Camera and Help Arnold Spread the Word #StayHome and Wash Your Hands

Who thought that Schwarzenegger would find unlikely allies and mascots in the form of his pet miniature pony Whiskey, donkey Lulu and tiny dog Cherry. Many have opened their hearts to Arnold and his animals and have found solace in videos and picture updates from the trio.

There is even a t-shirt you can buy which will allow Arnold to keep fundraising for the cause.

AFTER-SCHOOL ALL-STARS Partners With TIKTOK and Arnold Schwarzenegger to Provide Food and Resources to Students and Working Families Impacted by COVID-19

After-School All-Stars (ASAS) is an after school program and charity founded by Arnold Schwarzenegger, and recently it was announced that Tik Tok would be making a big contribution to families impacted by the closure of schools and the COVID-19 pandemic.

“After-School All-Stars announced it is partnering with TikTok to provide millions of meals to those in need and ensure kids are active, learning and happy. TikTok’s generous $3M donation will enable All-Stars to feed families affected by school closings due to COVID-19. Families in 60 cities across the U.S. with ASAS chapters will receive food vouchers and gift cards to be used on food and other essential items through local grocery store partners.”

Frontline Responders Fund:

Schwarzenegger went the extra distance to ensure doctor’s, nurses and hospital workers in LA were protected while working, by donating 1 million dollars to the Frontline Responders Fund – which aided in the acquisition of Masks and Protective Gear For Medical Staff.
Schwarzenegger also worked with hospital coordinators to ensure that the correct masks were part of the order, the N95 which is a medical grade mask which protects against the Coronavirus.

There is no doubt that Arnold will continue to serve in the public interest; saying that anybody wanting to help fight the pandemic can make a donation to the frontline responders fund directly.

1000 Meals For Medical Workers:

Schwarzenegger has since gone on to order 1,000 meals from one of his favorite restaurants in LA; Buca di Beppo and had the meals prepared and shipped over to medical workers treating Coronavirus patients at the USC Keck School of Medicine.

Schwarzenegger has also reiterated the importance of staying fit and healthy, even while staying at home, and amidst all of his good deeds in battling the Corona Crisis he has been sharing fitness regimes with his fans – which don’t require using fancy gym equipment.

Michael Biehn Records PSA as The Terminator’s Kyle Reese:

Michael Biehn reprised the role of Kyle Reese for a video telling people to stay home while re-enacting a classic The Terminator scene.

After the video (and its message) went viral, Michael then spoke to the Daily Mail about wanting to get the message out there:

“’When you think about it, the Terminator is very similar to the coronavirus, in the sense that it’s an unknown killer which took the world by surprise and it won’t stop and I’d like to get the message out to all the people to stay at home,’ he said.
‘Can you imagine if the coronavirus was like the flu and children were getting it, it’s really scary to think.
‘I don’t know exactly how you can contain this virus unless you can contain people. Everyone needs to stay at home.”

Terminator 2: Judgment Day’s Todd and Janelle Voight (Xander Berkeley and Jenette Goldstein), aided artist Mirthquake in creating an informative infographic to educate Terminator Fans on the value of social distancing and self isolation to ‘flatten the curve‘.

Brett Azar Offers Support:

Terminator actor Brett Azar, who played a young T-800 in Terminator Genisys and young ‘Carl’ in Terminator: Dark Fate, used social media to encourage anyone struggling with addiction during this time to reach out and ask for help.
Brett even offered his own support by opening himself to contact from whomever might need it.
