Happy 61st Birthday Michael Biehn AKA Kyle Reese

Kyle Reese The Terminator

Michael Biehn is one of the original cast members and the original male heartthrob/hero of the Terminator franchise; who has retained his crown for his excellent performance and depiction of the character Kyle Reese as created by James Cameron.

Recently Michael shared his thoughts on a possible return to the franchise and what it could entail after his character died in the first movie. Michael did return for a dream sequence in the second movie (cameo- which remains only on the Special Edition/T-1000 Edition). Still we see many fans expressing a wish for Michael to return to the franchise and we don’t blame them, he does have some very good acting chops which made the first Terminator movie very believable as he talked about a possible future of a world overrun by machines! Michael and Linda Hamilton (Sarah Connor) had great chemistry;- this made the love story of The Terminator (1984) stand the test of time.

Also fans of the Alien franchise are hungry for a return from Mr. Biehn in a sequel/continuation of James Cameron’s Aliens as Hicks; which again is more proof of how he owned these characters for generations and even though Reese and Hicks died in The Terminator (1984) and Aliens (1986) fans would still love Hollywood to find a way to revive Michael’s characters for more theatrical outings. The character of Hicks was revived in a videogame in a pretty good way (even though many thought the game itself sucked,- the return of Hicks was the strongest/best part of the game) and ever since it has been a strong conversational point of the Alien Fan community.

Michael continues to work in film and with his production company Blanc/Biehn productions with his wife Jennifer Blanc-Biehn.
