Video Games Based on 3 Different Terminator Movies in Development

Terminator Video Games

Two new Terminator Video Games are in the works, one will be a newly announced mobile game to tie-in with the movie release of Terminator: Genesis and the other is the previously announced ‘Terminators’ which will be a console/PC title based on the first two Terminator movies.

We contacted Reef Entertainment regarding ‘Terminators’ and they told us to connect with them next year as they cannot discuss the project at this current time.

Reef Entertainment:

“We are still too early in the development process to show anything on Terminators.”

Reef Entertainment’s ‘Terminators’ looks like it could be released next year but it will be a game based on the first two movies for consoles and PC. This game could be going into direct competition with this mobile game by the looks of it. It is unknown at this point if Skydance also plan to make a separate console based game tie in with the new Terminator movie. Terminator: Salvation had mobile and console games, we did like Salvation’s efforts but it was all too rushed and short lived for the gamer but new Terminator games are always a welcome addition to the Terminator universe.

The potential for games is there, and there is money to be made from gamers with this franchise.

Glu has partnered up with Skydance Productions to bring us a Terminator: Genesis movie game to be released Summer 2015 on “all major mobile platforms”.

This will be a mobile game and not a console game. Terminator Fans have had it pretty bad in the past, there have been some good Terminator games eg. ‘Terminator 3: The Redemption’ (which was better than the movie), ‘Dawn of Fate wasn’t bad and Terminator Salvation was okay but the game was too short.

“Terminator is one of the most iconic action brands in entertainment and we are pleased to be the first to bring the franchise to mobile as a free-to-play game,” said Niccolo de Masi, CEO of Glu. “We look forward to offering our high-energy, action packed gameplay to the millions of Terminator fans worldwide.”

“There aren’t many mobile or free-to-play games that offer compelling action or true excitement, but Glu’s titles have proven that it’s possible to deliver both,” added Skydance CEO, David Ellison. “We’re excited to be working with them to design a game that will let gamers experience head-to-head combat in the Terminator universe.”

Glu were also responsible for the RoboCop mobile game which you can check out in the video below.
