Time Displacement Device to Feature in Terminator: Genisys?

Time Displacement Device

Back in April 2014 we ran an article of predictions of what Terminator: Genisys’s plot could entail.

One of the things we mentioned/predicted was a Time Displacement Device (TDD) that would allow time travel to take place even in the past.

TheTerminatorFans.com April prediction (in bold):

“Casting news has revealed that “Sandrine Holt will play Detective Cheung, who arrests Kyle and Sarah when they arrive in 2017.”

Kyle and Sarah arrive in 2017?? This means they need to travel from 1984, how? with some kind of TDD (Time Displacement Device)?

To mention the new release of Terminator: Genisys and the back to back sequels that will follow (trilogy) Skydance Productions made an announcement of release dates of the next 3 Terminator movies

We don’t have a working Time Displacement Device, but we can give you a look into the future of the Terminator universe!

Our partners at Paramount Pictures have now confirmed release dates for all three films in the new trilogy, which will begin with the premiere of Terminator Genisys on July 1, 2015.

The second new Terminator film will be released on May 19, 2017, and the trilogy will conclude in the third film, to be released on June 29, 2018.”

The original basis of time travel in previous Terminator movies and video games has been by use of the ‘Time Displacement Equipment’. This time machine is very large and is located in the SkyNet Pyramid. The machine itself is located underground in a chamber “The Time Displacement Chamber”.

It was obvious to us that it would not be possible for characters in a present or past setting to have access to this advanced Technology; this is why it is obvious that a device will be needed to be brought back from the future if people are to go into the future.

How will such a device be used on screen? Here are some more predictions for you…

All big movies like a product placement and seeing as Terminator: Genisys will have a mobile phone game maybe the Time Displacement Device could look like an iPhone? but this wouldn’t explain how the device can get back through time unless it was coated in some mimetic poly alloy or inserted under the skin of Kyle Reese (Jai Courtney).

The other and a likely option is that Arnold Schwarzenegger himself (T-800) will have the device in his body or likely that he is the device itself. This could be a special Terminator Unit upgrade.

In past speculation; we also discussed an idea that Arnold’s T-800 in this movie could be SkyNet itself or that Arnold would be the blue-print to SkyNet’s future.

So did the ‘Time Displacement Device’ just become a reality?
