The Terminator Released on This Day in 1984

The Terminator 1984 Sarah Connor

The first and most serious Terminator movie was released on this day back in 1984. The film that started it all and introduced us to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s brutal/relentless THE TERMINATOR, Linda Hamilton’s Sarah Connor and Michael Biehn’s Kyle Reese.
Terminator has become an integrated part of pop culture even though the franchise is not as stable or as solid as it once was. Even with failed sequels, reboots and an upcoming prequel, the franchise has continued to maintain a sense of relevance.

What will be hugely unique for the next movie is that Linda Hamilton will return; playing the same character she did in the 1984 movie in 2019’s Terminator 6 AKA the ‘Untitled Terminator Reboot’; which could potentially bring back a solid foundation and connection to the much loved first movie. The Terminator Fans have been waiting for a return to form and many would hope that this could be the real deal with a true sequel to Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

With the return of Linda Hamilton and legendary creator James Cameron to this beloved sci-fi franchise; the stakes and hopes are higher than ever that fans will receive another Terminator movie worthy of the standard set by the first two iconic films.

A great big Happy Theatrical Release Birthday to The Terminator (1984) and all the Terminator Fans still waiting for a return to form!
