Endoskeleton collectors demand every detail of any Endoskeleton product; be it an arm, a skull or a life-size, be as accurate as cybernetically possible.
So, for those of you that may have Sideshow Collectibles Endoskeleton products stacked up around your home (like a Terminator Factory) what makes this Endoskeleton product different… well it isn’t just any old Endoskeleton Skull it is also a next-generation speaker (to pump out your favorite tunes) combining a built-in HD video camera (with Terminator vision) – Amazon Alexa (so you can chat with SkyNet), Wi-Fi & Bluetooth. The base also contains miniature skulls and a post apocalyptic battlefield design.
For those Collectors out there who feel less remorse, than THE TERMINATOR itself, when it comes down to the finer details of Endoskeleton products rest assured you are being listened to and some of you may have jumped the for the .45 Longslide a little too soon based on prototype images.
We caught up with Karl Grimsey, founder AC Worldwide and creator of all the licensed designs for some insight into the Endoskeleton Skull that is currently being Kickstarted, as we addressed some fan concern over the product and the news will be music to your ears (literally)!
Will more development/refinement be going into the Endoskeleton Skull Speaker design?
The rendered image is very much a prototype and lots of niggles will be addressed on the final product. It has to be signed off by STUDIOCANAL.
One notable concern came over the teeth of the product and how they look joined up;- will this be refined in the final product?
They will be one piece from resin but they will look like individual real teeth.
When can backers of the Kickstarter expect to receive the finished product?
If we’re successfully funded we’d be looking at Feb 18 for the first batch to be shipped.
Karl also gave an official update via the official Kickstarter of other refinements/modifications that will be happening…
The teeth on the design will be as perfect as we can make from the images given to us within the style guide, these will be white and shaped correctly – this is a prototype so some aspects might be slightly different
The tweeter and eyes in these images are made with a 3D printer, the skull and rest of the frame is resin then electro plated. The actual finished unit will all be made from alloy – the tweeters cover will be a fine grill moulded in the right shape to fit flush on the skull.
Also the position of eyes – all these finer details will be corrected on final version. ALL final models will be sent to STUDIOCANAL to be signed off before they go into production – they will only sign off when it is perfect.
It’s also beem noted that the angle of the piston of the jaw needs to be fine tuned so we’ll get onto that before the final rendition.
Something else that might be of interest is that when we make it in Alloy there will be some sections that will have black soot marks in corners and dips – to give it an authentic look.
Obviously this is great news, the renders of the product look absolutely great and to hear that niggles and minor flaws are being addressed throughout the campaign- will definitely please the hardcore among us! We have no doubt that when this product goes into full production mode it will look stunning.
