Now this is nothing concrete but it is something to worry about…
According to a source close to Annapurna Pictures the next Terminator movie will apparently take place before John or Sarah Connor ever existed… a prequel to The Terminator (1984).
Arnold Schwarzenegger will play a man close to the Connor Family (Sarah Connor’s parents). He is supposedly going to play a human and due to his success in protecting the family SkyNet will place his face on the Terminator sent back to 1984.
The movie will be set in the 1940s/50s and Arnold Schwarzenegger will play a man who uses antique weapons to protect the Connor family from… The Terminator.
Closely attached to this rumor is the fact that Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson is in talks to sign a deal to play a character which will be the biggest of his career to date and a major role; most likely a Terminator. His character is said to do battle with Schwarzenegger.
So according to this rumor Terminator Fans are going to have a Terminator which could be the fucking ‘Rock’ sent back to the fucking 40s to fight a human Arnold Schwarzenegger to protect Sarah Connor’s family who never even mentioned anything to her about some thing from the future that tried to kill her family in the past.
This isn’t April Fool’s and this sounds horrific. Apparently there are a few different versions of this movie that they have to decide to go with, they are going for a loop but a loop that goes back to the first movie in a different way than Kyle Reese going back through time.
The idea sounds bizarre and could alienate fans who wanted to see the original Terminator back to his original business but no,- if Arnold does come back as a farmer with an old shotgun to battle with the Rock this could be the most embarrassing Terminator sequel to date.
It could be a red-herring, it could be someone pulling our leg but if this is true… then everything The Terminator Fans have pleaded for and demanded has been ignored.
This leak may also suggest an older version of the movie which was planned but scrapped. Maybe that script rewrite they talked about?
One thing’s for sure… this project gets staler the longer the wait goes on.

A source close to the project says one idea being considered for the film could throw fans of the Terminator franchise for a loop. According to the scenario outlined, T5 may be a prequel set in the days of Sarah Connor’s parents, marking the first time terminators have been sent back in time to kill a character that existed before both John and Sarah Connor.
Incredibly, Schwarzenegger may not play the role of a machine in the next film, but a potentially heroic human figure in or close to the Connor family. One theory is that Schwarzenegger’s remarkable ability to protect the Connor family in the 1940s or 1950s with antiquated weaponry by today’s standards ultimately inspired the machines to develop a terminator in his likeness that was eventually sent to 1984 when Sarah Connor was first targeted for termination.
Although this is purely speculation, the source contends, don’t be surprised if T5 is dramatically unlike anything you’ve seen from the film franchise before.
All we know for certain is that if The Rock signs on the dotted line to do battle with Arnold in the 5th and potentially final Terminator film of the Schwarzenegger era, it could very well be the biggest blockbuster of both Schwarzenegger’s and Johnson’s film careers.
Calls to Johnson’s representatives were not immediately returned. For now, neither the film’s production company or rumored T-5 stars have confirmed plans for The Rock to appear in T-5. “
