Terminator Writer William Wisher to Discuss Artificial Intelligence at Comic Con 2017

James Cameron’s Collaborator and co-writer of The Terminator (1984) and Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991)- William Wisher will be appearing at Comic Con 2017 to discuss Artificial Intelligence: Will Computers Take Over the World? We quite frankly can’t think of anyone better to enter a debate/discussion about machines taking over the world!

The Terminator movies science fiction plot of SkyNet and the machines dominating our planet is seemingly becoming more of a scientific reality year by year with the government, scientists and military trying to push robotics and AI to create machines to do mankinds bidding on the battlefield. Where does William Wisher and other science fiction writers think things are heading in 2017 and beyond? People visiting Comic Con 2017 will be able to find out!

As scientists move closer to achieving artificial intelligence, what is next? How does real AI science compare to its depictions in movies, on TV, and in books? Could AI save the world—or be its doom? Join the Fleet Science Center as they bring together Craig Titley (co-executive producer/writer, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), William Wisher Jr. (screenwriter, The Terminator and Terminator 2: Judgment Day) and other science fiction writers to discuss the future of artificial intelligence with Dr. Ndapa Nakashole (assistant professor, UCSD Artificial Intelligence Group) and other AI researchers.
