Terminator Salvation To Feature Chrysler Cars In Sponsorship Deal

Terminator Salvation To Feature Chrysler Cars In Sponsorship Deal

The Terminator, Terminator 2: Judgment Day and Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines are known for many things, but cars are definitely one of them, so it’s fitting that automobile manufacturer Chrysler want in on the action of 2009‘s Terminator Salvation.

Chrysler LLC have recently received $4 billion in emergency aid from the U.S. Government, and now a deal with Terminator Salvation could also help that little bit further in getting the company back on its feet – or should that be wheels?

“This spring, Terminator 4 comes out and we will be one of the sponsors, we have a following with the Terminator movies and we are going to continue with that.”

Chrysler director of media Susan Thomson said in a presentation at the Automotive News World Congress

The deal does however strike us as being a little odd, as what we know about the movie so far is that it will be set in the future war, and we can’t really imagine it being a great showcase for cars – unless you want to drive around in a scorched and rusted out shell of a car that has been blasted by a nuclear missile… ? Though the movie does also feature present day scenes which could possibly showcase their cars in a better light.

As Chrysler stated; they are no stranger to the Terminator movies and are not afraid to let their cars take a beating from SkyNet‘s best machines, the T-1000 for example.

The exact financial terms of the deal were not disclosed but the deal adds to Terminator Salvation sounding like a very big budget affair, much like 2003’s Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.
