Terminator: Resistance by Mogol Games

Terminator: Resistance is the first MMORTS (Massively multiplayer online real-time strategy game) in the Terminator franchise and has been in development at Mogol Games which we exclusively reported back in January 2015. It is also an Official The Terminator game and will depict characters/actors and the original Endoskeleton design.

Official Game Description:

It’s the year 2029, humanity has survived decades of a post-apocalyptic world ruled by machines. With no central government and limited resources, humanity has been driven to turn on itself. Rival Resistance members pose as much of a threat as Terminators. In a dystopian world your ally can easily turn into your enemy.

It’s uncertain whether or not destroying Skynet will determine mankind’s existence.

The future is not set. Survive and see how it unfolds.

FEATURES:

  • Build and command an army in massive Skynet battles.
  • Fortify and personalize your own base and take over resource outposts.
  • Join millions of players worldwide in mankind’s last stand against Skynet.
  • Play real-time co-op with friends.
  • Raid other rival players’ bases and outposts.
  • Fulfill your destiny as a leader of the Resistance in an epic, evolving story

What’s going to be fun is the cast that matters is BACK! Seeing Linda Hamilton here in new artwork as Sarah Connor is really cool.

While her likeness is more geared towards 1984- it would still be great to have Linda back in the lead human role of any possible future Terminator movies! This is the character we cared about THE REAL SARAH CONNOR.

She isn’t the only one who is back!

The real DN38416 is back and ready to battle. We are really loving the way that that Michael Biehn and Linda Hamilton are being depicted and this feels a lot more genuine than the franchise of late.

Endoskeletons (in the original design) actually holding Plasma Rifles in the 40-Watt Range? Count us in. As usual Arnold Schwarzenegger’s likeness may never happen in this game, Arnold’s likeness is very costly and most license holders avoid using him to save money, so if Arnold isn’t in a video game, or official merchandise… you know why. Hamilton, Biehn and the machines easily make up for it though.

The Flying/Aerial HK seems to be the only notable redesign, looking more similar to the machine designs of Terminator Salvation. We need to remember that each time a copyrighted design is used it costs and this is a reason why machines get redesigned for the movies; to avoid hefty fees, having your own design reduces costs. Overall the Flying HK is still true in a sense, although not the original Jim Cameron design, it evokes the shark feel from Salvation’s design and does fit in without really causing any concern like most redesigns do. This is also a game not a movie and we are so thankful that Mogol have considered the hardcore fans for this game and we like the presentation so far.

Ground HK alert!

Terminator: Resistance has been available on the Apple Store in SE Asia and the Middle East since June 1st and has been soft launched in Cambodia, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Mongolia, Pakistan, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, United Arab Emirates, and Vietnam.
